2011 GT runs 10's!

I like the darker colors, the plastic on the rear is less noticeable on them.

It would take some DEEP pockets to put that motor in a new edge!

I just dont like the area around the tail lights or the tail lights, the rest of the car isnt bad.

Yea i know it would take deep pockets now,but just wonder if its actually possible what kind of parts and enginuity its gonna take, besides after theres been a few sold and wreaked the motors might not be as pricey...

I think the kona blue is the best color on the new mustangs. But the amazing thing about JPC running 10s is they had the car for almost 24 hours and had it in the 10s. They have less mods then evolution and and on the stock tune! One thing that evolution doesn't have though is a driver. Justin is just that a driver and a damn good one, but congrats to both companies

Thing is scup you buy a 05 to 09 supercharge it and you will still be seeing the 2011s tail lights... I myself like the 2010 and newer cars looks.

450rwhp 05-09 with supercharger for a total cost of 22k vs 370-380rwhp on the 2011 5.0 for 40k. The 2011 will be looking at the 05-09s tail lights. Yes with basic bolt ons and a 93 oct tune the 5.0 puts down around 405 N/A rwhp (very impressive) but the 05-09 will still be passing it for a lot less money. Don't get me wrong I love the 5.0 but for me it is just to much money. Also some days I like the looks of the new stangs some days I don't:shrug:. I'm sure if I put a supercharger on my car right now I would be looking at 400+rwhp and the 5.0s will be also looking at my tail lights. I just felt like putting in that last sentence to make me fell better about my car lol.

Strictly Performance just ran 11.8x's at the track tonight, and I left at 830pm. Car is NA, with weight removed. I didn't get a chance to talk to Richard.

OK then what kinda power can a 4v put down NA? Cuz I have no idea really..
I plan to keep mine for a long time,so in the future when I have no payments left on it,I can start putting those payments up for the motor..:D
Best I ever saw on a Teksid was 471hp and that was at the crank.

And the 2011 isnt 40k, its 35K or less if you dont opt it out. Also a 05-09 with a blower and exhaust will still lose to an 11 GT with tune and exhaust.... or just tune. Its lighter and geared better.
How many 05-09 GTs with an Edelbroc or Vortech blower you see in the 10's? A couple?
Shelby is already blowing the 5.0 so with a tune and tires and exhaust they see 10's then ya know when the blower kits come out 9's will be all to easy.
Gonna see a lot of these new 5.0's wrecked by the end of Summer. :(

And with what you said about alot og the 5.0's being wreaked by the end of summer was ahy I was kinda curious about those motors in the new edge stangs..:D

Teksid...im not sure what that is.and 471 is NA?,if so how would I need to go about that...:D

Teksid was the old super strong aluminum block from the Mark VIII's and 96-98 Cobras.
That 471 was done with a Teksid bored and stroked to a 5.0, 04 Cobra heads, Reinhart cams and a trick 8 individual throttle body plenum with velocity stacks.

It was on Horse Power TV a few months back.

As to the engine being swapped in..... its gonna take some serious effort. The new engine has VVT on all four cams and I think variable runner length too so you cant use the old computer. Then the new computer is gonna error like a mofo! It commands the windows to drop a hair when the doors open and then raise them after the close so its gonna error when it dont see that happening. Then there are the yaw sensors and acceleromiters in the new car that the computer needs for its stability controll. Then that wont work right without the new cars brake pump and stuff.
Then there is the drive by wire stuff. Gonna need to move the gas pedal over and fab a bracket for it.

It will be a royal PITA to swap over unless Ford makes a stand alone computer for it and then chances are they will only sell it with a crate motor.

4.6 DOHC loves boost like nothing else out there! You have the stick so your block, crank and heads are up to the challenge! Just get some rods and pistons and the sky is the limit! Your block is good for 700ish hp and if ya found a dead Mark VIII (usually $3-400) you could take its block and be good for as much power as you want. But even on stock internals you can handle 400-450 rwhp and all you need is the blower, heat exchanger and lower plenum from a 03/04 Cobra which you should be able to score for $1000-$1500 depending on how patient you are. Run it at 8-9psi and have a freakin blast! Should put you solidly into the 12's :nice:

I wish I had C heads. :( I am into my blower about $3000 now and still no intercooler. Would have been cheaper for me to buy some C heads and an 03/04 Eaton setup.

I never realized that it would be that easy.I know the Mach's crank is forged,so really all I need are the pistons and rods for a reliable blown motor?

So stock tranny and axles are descent for say 400ish rwhp?If I ever do go blown route I would do everything needed first.

And do you know if I would need to do anything special with the way the shaker mounts up to do the cobra setup you mention?

Sorry to get off topic of the OP.And thx Lazer for the info, btw what happened to the Cobra?
