Outside of D/R's, what are the best tires for every day driving, while still have road racing in mind =) I hear Falken Ziex are good tires for the road, as well as when it rains. Or how about BFG G-Force? Let me know what you guys have, and how you like them. Pics welcome =)

Nitto 555's

Yeah but Nitto's are D/R, i 'd imagine they are not ideal for everyday driving...

No, Nitto NT555Rs and NT555RIIs are drag radials. Nitto NT555s are regular street tires that have a tread life around 25-30k miles... Thats what I'm putting on my ride in the next few weeks... :nice:

Try the Falken Azeni Sports in 245, they have a super stiff sidewall and almost look like 255s. The tread is pretty sticky and there cheap. 98 a tire at savastire.com. I use them for open track and daily driving.

EDIT: Just saw your running wider than stock rims. I would go with the nitto RII in 275 with those rims. Its designed for road racing. Basically a DR with a stiff sidewall. Also in that price rang are Khumo Ecsta MX I have heard great things about them.

How much are the NT 555's? Better yet, got anygood homepages? I got 17x9 (front) and 17x10.5's in the rear. Don't know the tire specs thingy (ie: 275x60x10) though =)

I had the Nitto 555ZR's on my Cobra a few years ago and they are a wonderful tire. Check nittotire.com As far as sizes, they only carry a limited selection of sizes though. Getting back to the Nitto's; they were great in the rain, had predictable grip in the corners. The only reason I have my current tire ( G-Force KDWs) is that my local Costco had them at the same price as The Tire Rack plus warranty. This is another good tire. If you are looking at the more expensive KDW, the only turn-off for me there is the price. But it is a highly aggressive tire for things such as street/ occasional autocross use.

Ok, decided to go with "BFGoodrich G-Force TA K/D Drag Radials" for the rear tires and probably those "Falken Azeni Sports in 245" for the front tires (in the picture a few posts up).

How long do those BFGs last? I want to use them for the summer at the track, but will also be my every day driver tires...I dont drive in the winter, so im not worried about the snow, just the rain, and treadlife. Let me know if any of you guys used these tires for the same application as me.

Bridgestone Potenza s-03 Pole Positions: 35K miles with plenty of tread left. These tires stick to the pavement like glue, wet or dry. I've drivin through 5" of standing water at 50mph and no hint of a hydroplane. I am completely sold on these tires. They're a little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for...

Where is the best place to get BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KD tires? I want them for my rear wheels that are 17x10.5" the tires i have on now are 275/40/17 Anyone know a good place to get these tires in taht size? I think the cheapest i've seen is like $179 per tire

(Off of tirerack.com)
1998 Mustang GT - BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KD
Rear: 275/40-17
YR Speed Rated Price: $179
Estimated Availability: In Stock

How is the tread wear on those? I'm thinking of giving them a try for $97
