It'll be tough, but get rid of the BBK CAI(it's probably hurting you more than helping) and get a densecharger, WMS velocity tube, or a UPR powerpipe along with a Pro-M 77/80/87mm MAF...You'll probably need your intake ported and polished also, and get a good tune on it...that may get you close...

I figured UD pullies, tune and I was thinking of getting rid of the cai for a denscharger, only reason its on there is because it was on there when I bought the car.

Yup, get pullies, get a tune, get an O/R X pipe (get rid of the H), get an actual cat-back (a non-chambered setup), go to 4.30s just because you'll hate 4.10s at the track. Get an Aluminum FW and an aluminum DS. Get a solid rear, as well.

wont be changing the exhuast if I can help it, love the sound of h pipe a chambered muffs. I do hate my 4.10's but will be keeping them and hoping for a supercharger in the coming years.

I agree when I switched from the chambered mufflers to the straight threw mufflers ( Magnaflow ) I gained 12 RWHP on my dyno. Also get the Steeda underdrive pullies and Get the WMS High velocit system setup. Intake features a 4" lower elbow, huge S & B filter, Pro-M 95 mm Mass air meter and a 3.5" high flow tube going to the throttle body. Also I heard about the 99 Cobra not putting out the Horsepower numbers as advertised because their was something wrong with the intake manifold you might want to check this out if you didn't already know, SVT Ford Put a recall on it and was offering a free repair.

i just got my 99 cobra dynoed i have a densecharger intake, bbk 62 mm tb, steeda u/d pullies, mac hi-flo cats, mac cat back, steeda tri-axe, eibach springs
and ime making 304 horses with 306.7 lbs of torque
it wasnt put over 6000 rpms in 4th
from 4.2 thousand rpms to 5.8 thousand rpms my air fuel falls from 13.2 to 11.2
the guy said its costing me 20 horses on the dyno
where and how can i get this fixed

why did my dyno run so strong without even having Long tubes
since it was dynoed i went to put a maf on my densecharger and i noticed my airfilter in the fender wall fell off could this have been why my dyno results were so strong
since then i went back to stock intake

Don't change the exhaust....especially going to an o/r X pipe (my opinion in general :notnice: ). You are fine with what you have.

#1 You need Steeda pulleys.
#2 You need to ditch that CAI kit, and go with a WMS or Densecharger. The only real reason you need to get an aftermarket MAF is if you get your intake extrude honed or find someone to do a P&P on it. Then you will need a better MAF.
#3 Tune. Most aftermarket MAF's give you a gain in HP by leaning you out some...a good tune can do the same thing. Add a little timing and you will see the power you want.

Not much else you can do.
I hit 318RWHP while n/a with:
Kook LT headers, o/r H, Flowmasters, Steeda pulleys, WMS intake with 95mm MAF, P&P intake, and a tune. My tuner didn't want to add timing favoring a safe tune over maximum peak hp...I agreed. Then 4 months later I added the blower  :nice:

If you really care about the extra 5-10 RWHP, then you could go to a straight threw muffler...but I wouldn't give up the sound of your current exhaust for a few extra ponies.

It's been dyno and track proven that X-pipe/straight through mufflers is the best setup headers back on these cars. His car is right there. A few little changes in his exhaust and intake setups will get him to 330/330. These cars are like 3.8s--they either sound great or go fast. It's the same problem for 4-cyl guys...

And for the rich condition, you need to add some timing on the dyno through a good tune. I recommend SCT.

Where can I look up the WMS high velocity system, and how much did it cost and ease of install? thanks.

not to sway your opinion or anything, but you might wanna consider this when you're exploring alternatives to your current CAI setup:

With only the C&L 80mm MAF, Steeda UDP's and a DiabloSport chip we put 299 HP- 305.1 ft lbs/tq. to the rear wheels....................
and that's on a 100% stock exhaust system.......... down to the tips.

I'm figuring that we can easily go 325-330 RWHP when we go with a Dr. Gas/ Magnaflow exhaust swap later this year.
:nice:
