I have the sparco speeds w/black jaquard fabrique and couldn't be more pleased. These are the seats as long as you are a 38" or less waist.

Arrugh!

The guy called back and said Corbeau only offers leather in black. I need gray. I guess I could live with cloth but the real hitch is they claim the seat won't bolt to my factory track allowing me to keep my power adjustment.

Recaros in My GT

I couldn't stand the stock GT seats, so I replaced them with these Recaros. I have to say it's a night and day difference, from pure crap to near perfection. They were a bit pricey, I'd do it again in an instant.

These are the "Style" model from Recaro, in Black Artista cloth with black accents. They have adjustable headrests, side bolsters, and leg bolsters. Mine are mounted on manual sliders for a bit of extra headroom, but they also have adapters for the electric adjuster if you want to keep that for some reason.

I noticed recently that Ford used the same model of Recaro in grey leather on their v10 Boss 351 demonstrator car.

Here's a couple of pictures from my car I've posted here before:

And if you remove the power rack don't you get a bit more leg room? So would these fit a person with a waist over 38?

Yes on both counts. I'm 6'5" tall and about 280lbs, and they work for me. I do usually have the side bolsters most of the way out, at nearly the widest possible setting.

Legroom is much improved. I couldn't get my knees under the steering wheel comfortably with the stock seat, but with the Recaros I can sit normally. In the back seat, however, the legroom is non-existant. The back of the front seat and the front edge of the back seat are separated by less than 2" in my normal, fairly upright driving position.

Headroom improved by 3" at least. I used to brush the headliner with my head and now I can wear a hat and not touch it. This improved forward vision for me substantially as well. With the stock seat I was looking at the very top edge of the windshield, and now I look out about 4" down in a much more normal view.

I was thinking about gettin the Summit racing seats. They just came out with some new ones. They are 200 dollars each. I know you get what you paid for but my Formula has some ugly faded seats. The seats also smell like smoke, so anything would be better than my stock seats at this point.

Anyone have those seats?

I have a thread on seats right now too. I was looking at Cobra seats (Cobra brand, not SVT Cobra) but after going to that link these look really intersting for the price. I don't need the holes for harnesses and they are made to fit my wide arse.

Great choice Nick! They look awesome you should get them
because they look like a good deal for that price for two seats.
Latemodel Restoration Supply's customer service is top notch! :nice:

Your Welcome Roush97! :nice: they look super!
I didn't know they changed the name of those seats.I
guess you learn something new everyday. :nice:

does anybody have any aftermarket seats that don't look more like they belong in an autocrosser than a daily driver?

not that there is anything wrong with a racy looking seat...I'm just looking for something a little less 'extreme'...
