oh well guys, i guess we'll all have bad numbers that aren't accepted by the mustang community.

No kidding, whats up with that. That is one of the things i do not like about this site. Who gives a rats ass if my numbers will be accepted by the mustang community. Im will be doing it for the fun and for MY mustang, not doing it for other approval of others

It's all relevent. It is just a point of reference you can use.
If you do some mods and want to know how they have improved your numbers, go back to the same dyno.
I for one don't want to dyno my car in Santee in the summer.
It's bad enough we are going to be east of
I-805.

Thank you, I agree totally. I don't get why they even had to post here. I mean the Dyno Day is already set up and everything then people say "oh no your numbers will be wrong" or "you will be laughed at and not accepted by other stangers". Who cares? Like you said, we do it for us, not for other stangers.

I have had 2 cars dynoed on Dyno Dynamics Dyno's ... it seemed the HP read low, and the tq read high on both of them... It reads hp different than the Dyno Jet, and as Laser Red said, the results are not widely accepted among the sports car communities... speaking from experience, dont waste your money on a dyno dynamics dyno... it's a waste of time...

Really? I thought my hp and trqe readings were close to what I expected on the dyno dynamics dynamometer at The Dyno Shop in Santee. Great, I'd like to believe I'm over 400rwhp. I'll go with your logic :) (how about that, one post = 10 hp !!)

you know......this is why I am glad our group is not a "club".....we might have to make a metamorphesis into complete horse's asses just so we feel better about how insignificant we are and how important it is that we are accepted by others......<sniffle, snifle.......wiping a tear>........just wondering if "clubbers" have to put the seat down when they pee?

It looks like you are the only one who is offended because no one gives a **** about your opinion.
But hey, thanks for the "warning".

You wanna tell me why you're such an ass? I gave people useful info, so they can make a decision about wheather or not they want to dyno thier cars at
JBA. I thought that's what this board was all about, then you go and attack me? WTF for? Because I'm in a club? Who cares? Dynoing a car has nothing to do with being in a club? If someone asks me what my horse power is, I'd like to give them accurate info, not inflated numbers.
Why are you attacking me for that?

Its starting to look like this board is no longer a place for infomation, just flaming others for giving useful info.
Maybe you don't care if you're numbers are inflated, but did you stop to think that some others could and would like to know?

When I dyno'd my car at JBA I got 249 rwhp and the only mod I had at the time was a c&l maf. I call that pretty inflated.

Hey man, appreciate the info. Maybe it is useful info, but is something that is already set up and everyone in this thread just likes to meet up and have fun. I have nothing against whatever club you are in. We are just having a good time. :nice:

I know the JBA day is already set up so I'll still be going...but is there any truth as to the inflated numbers people are complaining about. I would of course prefer to get the most accurate readings. How much are these dynos supposedly off by?

yes, it is, it measures horsepower and torque differently. Just like a mustang dyno is different, so is a dyno dynamics.
On a mustang dyno you're numbers will be generally lower, and on a dyno dynamics dyno you're numbers will be higher, compared to the standard Dynojet.

Its not just the "Mustang" community that uses the dynojet as a standard for measuring rwhp and rwtq, its the entire sportscar community. JBA also doesn't give you SAE corrected numbers.
SAE corrected results will be the same anywhere no matter what the weather or altitude is like. Meaning you could have your car dyno'd in Phoenix in 110 degree weather and get the same results SAE corrected in Denver Colorado.

Have you had your car dynoed on both setups? If so, what were the differences in the numbers?

Yes, I have, but you couldn't compare my results. The second time I dyno'd my car I had a Novi 2000 on it.

At JBA all I had was a C&L MAF on my car and got 249 rwhp, I really don't think a C&L MAF will give you almost 25 rwhp .

My friend who dyno'd the same day with a 98 gt with nothing other than a BBK cai got 201 rwhp. Thats pretty high for an almost completely stock 98 GT.
That same friend dyno'd at santee with me a few months ago on a dynojet. He had my old C&L plus Magnaflow mufflers and underdrive pullies and got 195 rwhp on the dynojet. that sounds about right to me.

Another guy with us at JBA had an 03 gt with JBA Shorties, Magnaflow catted X Pipe, K&N FIPK, and welded on Flowmasters, He got something like 270 rwhp and 320 rwtq, I kind of think that's impossible with his mods.
Here is his post http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=371189
he even went out and had his car dyno'd again at a mercedes dealership a couple days later, but it was again on a dyno dynamics dynomometer, and his numbers were almost exactly the same. That tells me that JBA's dyno was functioning correctly that day and that this type of dyno is not good for measuring HP and TQ.
But, as any dynomometer, it's probably still a great tool for tuning a car, I'm not going to say the dyno is bad, just that the numbers these types of dyno's produce aren't generally accepted.

Hey guys,
I have had my cars dynoed at JBA and their numbers are not inflated. I went to another place and dynoed after I was on the Jba dyno and I gained 12 rwhp. I have had a conversation with Brian Herron formally of Apten performance and asked the question about the differance in the dyno sessions and he told me that the dyno ata jba was 5 to 8 % lower than the other dyno's. I want to have some fun on that day so lets get together and do just that
