To those who have underdrive pulleys and an AOD, I would like to know if anyone is running a 2.5 inch alternator pulley instead of the 2.0 inch. Per the March Performance website, they recommend those with AOD to select their "power and amp series" version which differs in that it has the 2 inch alt pulley instead of the regular kit which includes a 2.5 inch. I have always owned 5spd manual mustangs, so my car with the AOD is a sorta new journey. The reason I just dont buy the recommended set, is because i am getting a full set which includes the 2.5 alt pulley, for free. I have never had any probs on my stick cars with U/D pulleys, but for the AOD guys, are you runnning the 2.5 alt pulley, and not experiancing any probs? Are you running the normal size and having serious charging probs? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm running ASP pulleys and a 140 Powermaster Alt. I had to switch the alt pulley to a 2" or a 1 7/8" from Summit. If not, I'd sit at the stop light with my foot on the brake, and any other accessory and watch my battery drain.

I ran with the 2.5" on my AOD.. The reason that they don't recommend it on the AOD's is that the AOD's idle at a lower RPM. This can cause an undercharging condition.

I used the 2.5" on my AOD for a while.. While it worked fine, I would get too much power drain with the AC and headlights on. I recently upgraded to a 3g alternator with a 1 3/4 pulley and electric fan, so things are good for now..
