What is everyones opinion on nitrous? When should it be ran and when should it not? And whats a safe shot to actually run on a weekly basis?

Nitrious is a great power adder when used correctly.
I dont know what you mean "when should it be ran", so I'm not going to... answer? that?

no matter how little you're going to spray, it's still going to be dangerous to some degree, WITH OUT THE PROPER TUNE.

usually on our engines, 100 shots are typical. Some people have shot 125s without problems, either. But I wouldnt go any further than that without a strong rebuild... especially because most times the rods are the first thing to bend.

"Build a nitrous motor as strong as one that would make the same power on the motor only."

with forged internals you can do a little more than 100, like he said some people are fine with 125, i bet you could safely do 150, and by tune he mean that the engine is tweaked to where it acts correctly with the nitrous in terms of firing points and stuff like that

What all would i have to do to TUNE it properly as you were saying WORRELL?? I'm going to install a Forged Crank, Forged Rods, Forged Pistons and all hardware as soon as my stroker kit comes in? Will that work?

Generally anything above a 100 shot youd need to retard the timing. All depends on the kit though. 125 shot or above you sometimes need plugs that are a step or two colder along with a better fuel pump, and all the stuff stated above. I have a setup where I have a dual stage chip with a nitrous tune and a NA tune. The nitrous tune retards timing and does a few other things (im not a tuner I dont know exactly). The NA tune has advanced timing and so on.

Ok by tune he means, go to a local dyno shop that has air/fuel monitoring equipment and have them put it on a dyno, make some runs, and adjust the paramaters of your ecm so that when you run your car on the nitrous, it is safe. They can also remove or raise the rev limiter, change for different gears, and raise the timing. If everything is forged, and you have all the safety equipment needed to run nitrous on your car, then I dont see why you couldnt run a higher shot than 125. It just sounds like you need to search stangnet and do more research on the whole nitrous thing, because it doesnt matter if you have the strongest engine in the world, if it isnt tuned correctly, it will kill it self. Good luck, do some research.

To be on the safe side, you should get a step or two colder plugs no matter what shot you spray. You should also retard the timing even if you are running a small shot. It's better to be safe than sorry. I sprayed a few times on my n/a tune, but it's really not safe. I also have a chip with a few different settings depending on what shot I am running. i.e. if I'm spraying 100 shot, I'll set the chip to retard the timing -4 or -5 degrees. You should also get a window switch. Nitrous is never really safe on your car, but you should do all the safety things before you spray. Like I said before, it's better to be safe than sorry. :nice:

it might for a split second before it killed you ;) Medical grade n2o is much different from industrial grade like used in cars.
Right :nice: I think something like sulfur is put in the industrial grade N2O. Do they put it in there to keep people from abusing it?

sonicblue how much did the FRPP throttle body run you? and did you see any gains out of it?
I got it from my exboyfriend actually, he took it off of his car, and he gave it to me. I couldnt really tell the difference to be honest with you. They work better when you get a plenum like the Dragon or the C&L.

is the nitrous in cars the same as the giggle gas, would it give you the same feeling if you inhaled it :D

DO not inhale this **** :) There are 2 grades of N2O, automotive and medical. The automotive grade is highly toxic and will kill you quick. Don't inhale it thinking you'll get a nice buzz like you do from the medical grade you get at the dentist as an anesthetic.
