Over heating question

Ok, I let the stang run with its new radiator, water pump, thermostat. After driving it and it overheated, I came back to do a little trouble shooting. O poured water/coolant, in the radiator. I let it run for a while. After about 5 minutes I check and coolant is flowing out of the radiator, but it is not hot. I touch the water pump and it is on fire. I thought this was weird, so I squeeze the upper radiator hose and it hard as a rock, it will not squeeze in at all and it is not hot. I feel the lower and it is the same way. I go look at the temp Gage and it is almost all the way to HOT so I stop the car. AS SOON AS I DO this, I hear a FIZZZZZ noise and see steam out of the upper hose area. I touch the upper hose and it is on FIRE and so is the RADIATOR@! How can it get hot AFTER I shut off the car? Is it possible that there is something wrong with the thermostat? Why would the pressure be so great that you can not squeeze the hose? Hope you guys can help!

Have you done a backflush through the motor of the car? I had a problem like that and it was that my motor had something clogged. After have my local radiator shop do it for me, my car ran just fine and didn't over heat.

i agree with this. if the t-stat was in backwards it wouldnt open after the car is turned off.

Either what D.Hearn said, or you never got it full, or the t-stat is NG.

Pull the t-stat and run it up with the cap off. You should get great flow threw the radiator and it shouldn't overheat. If that doesn't fix it, Swear @ D.Hearn :D
