Is this a turbo motor that you are disassembling. If so it may be possible the stock piston will be ok but with new rings. You have to know what your goals are. How much horsepower? Where in the rpm range you want the power? And most of all how much cash do you want to spend? It will cost you more to get in the 12's with a 2.3 than a 5.0. If you want to do it right you'll be spending at minimum $3,000. I'm currently having a 5.7 rod motor built with some H beam rods, valves and springs I got off of ebay for a good price. With porting I will be spending about $2000. But I already have all the other components necessary which would run at least $1000 if not more. Take your time and do it right. Most of all find a machinist who is familiar with the 2.3.
To answer your original question about pistons you can go with Wiseco's available at Racer Walsh or Race Engineering (Raceeng.com) but Diamonds or CPs will be better. Make sure you specify turbo pistons. And if your going to spent the extra money on new rods get 5.5's at least. But make sure you specify which rod when ordering the pistons.(5.2 is stock)
