im thinking about gettin my windsor jr's and gt40 intake ported to try an get some power outta this motor before the power adder... think i could get at much as 40 more horses from porting and polishing this??? i know when i had the lower off the gasket was a lot bigger then the port opening.... i mean were talking about a good 3/8" difference all around....

Well technically you can port two ways. First is gasket matching were you just taper the opening to match the gasket. The other way is to port to match the gasket all the way down. If you do it the first way then I'd say about 15-20 horsies. If you port all the way down, I'd think you'd grab a few more.

In essence, they all flow the same. However, like anything else, each individual intake may be alittle better than another. I have a SF600 flow test of a GT40 and an Explorer, GT40 = 206cfm & Explorer = 209cfm.

you havent seen my polished explorer upper... its dam sexy... hahaha!!!! so 250 cfm huh tmoss??? how much power do you think that would yeild along with thumpers work??? think i could break 300 rwhp with the port work along with underdrives/electric fan???

How much power you make depends on the WHOLE combination, and the cam and tune will play heavily into that. I can give you the potential for power in the intake, you have to do the rest. i.e. - some guys with my ported stock lower make 240RWHP and some make 260RWHP.
