The "1967 Shelby GT500" in Gone in 60 Seconds wasn't even a real Shelby. It was a remake designed by Chip Foose to mimick the 67. The car in the movie shares the name and a couple lines with the original, nothing else. I'll take 1 real 67 GT500 over 10 Eleanor's anyday.

There is a reason for the copy cat car. There were quite a few cars used in the movie actually. Most of them had 289s. Some of them were cut up for camera equipment and special shots. Some were destroyed during the filming, and a couple were left intact after all the abuse. It's easy to see why they didn't use real Shelby cars. The only thing real about the Shelby in the movie was the sound effects of the car, which were recorded from a real GT500.

To each his (or her ) own.
Sorry guys, I never like the Ellenor in the movie nor any of the 2005 photo chops. :notnice:

Put a wing on that thing and it's total rice.

Did you know that the Eleanors built now are REAL SHELBYs ? Carol himself signs each one of them and endorses them.

I love the 05 Eleanor, I want one!
