Where can I get 9" Rear End?

I've currently got an 8" rear end in my 1966 Mustang, and I'm putting a new engine in making over 300hp and everyone has been telling me to get a 9" rear end. I was wondering if anyone could give me a ball park of how much it is gonna cost for a 9". I was also wondering if anyone had links to websites that sell 9" rear ends that are already rebuilt and ready to go right into a 1966 Mustang.

You don't need to upgrade with only 300 Flywheel HP period.

You don't need to upgrade with only 300 rear wheel HP unless you are going to run slicks.

The 8 inch can take that power level ok, and you will save yourself the additional parasidic loss. Of course you will spend a little more on gears and locking setups, but it will still be cheaper than converting to a 9 inch setup.

If you still want to upgrade and are tight on money, 57-9 Ford 9 inch housing are a direct bolt in (I run one in my 65).

A newer 8.8 would also be a good choice (from a junkyard) if you're tight on money.

sorry, i don't mean to hijack, but how much power does a 9" take off over an 8". i'm kind of curious about this same question.

Sure you can put ANY rearend in you want.

The only problem is the added costs of shortening the housing, maching the axles, and moving the spring perches.

Superformance, if you do decided to go with the 9 and sell your 8, PM me as I need an 8 inch...that is if the explorer rear won't work out.
