Thats cool, if you do somehow find a way to recover them, let me know, Id like to have those pictures again. Thanks

Actually its pretty easy. I didnt take any fenders off, but I did have the front bumper off because it was being painted. I think it took me about an hour total, its really not that bad. Extending and soldering the wires took a bit of time, but nothing major. All the plugs are different so its not too easy to mis-match the plugs. Just take your time and it will be easy.

This is kind of a simple question, but what gauge wire do you need for lengthening those few wires?

I used to have a small stockpile of wires of various gauges, but I lost them last time I moved. Just need to know what size to buy.

Thanks,
Joe

So, do you think i could do it without taking off my fenders or bumper. I have a pit in the backyard, so getting under the car isn't a problem at all. And, did you just use those heavy duty wire ties to fasten the harness to where ever you could, when you routed the wires?

I think I used 14g or 16g wire, whatever the parts place had. It didnt really have to be anything specific for the headlight and corner light. As for the fan wires, I used a 10g wire.

Yeah its pretty easy. I just took out the finder liners and the wheels. I dont have AC so the condensor is out of the way already.

It doesnt flood here very often and I usually dont drive it in the rain (no wipers or AC to defrost the windsheild). I have been caught out in some pretty bad rain storms since Ive moved my fuse box down there and I havent had any problems.

Yea. I am going to move my fuse box into the inner fender. How do I take the front bumper off our car? I can't seem to figure it out. Might as well do it. Car isn't running anymore due to ****ed alternator. Man it pisses me off sometimes. Got towed home from dragstrip last night.

There are 2 nuts on each of the inner fenders that hold the bumper to the fenders. Take those off. The hard part is taking the bumper cover loose from the headlight panel. The bumper cover wedges into the headlight panel and its a pain in the a$$ to get out. I think I broke a few of the tabs, but it does come out.

Yeah, I've been told that mounting anything like a fuse box upside down is bad news if it is an outdoor thing. Isn't the rain gonna run right down into where the wires are? You said you didn't have any problems, but up here in CT isn't the most dry place, even though I'm not driving it in the winter. Do you think there would be any way/where to mount it right side up; if not I think I'm gonna have to figure something out. I'm really uneasy about mounting it upside down like that. Can't wait to start though. I'm waiting for the new CAI to come in, then its good bye wires.

If the box is right side up, then the water will go into the wires. If anything, upside down would let the water run into the fuse box cover. Its not like its a desert here, we are over 10" above the normal rain amount for the year. If you are that concerned about water getting in it, put a plastic bag around it and tie it off :D
