for a while now my car has been missing out at low rpm and in between quick shifts under WOT at high rpm. i dont have mil elims. but i have an OR H pipe. could that be doing it? from the look of the plugs which i have changed a couple times, using copper plugs. gapped properly. the drivers bank is running lean while the pass. side seems to run fine. i think the car is fouling plugs on the drivers side from leaning out. but the plugs arent the only problem. the missing seems to get better with new plugs in it. but after a while gets worse. also after i have been WOT for a few seconds and let off then get back on it, it stumbles really bad, like a car on a 2-step rev limiter. does anyone have any idea what would cause the 2 banks to run differently. or know how i can get rid of the missing. thanks for any help.

hey dude i have a 96 and mine did the same thing. i changed the plug wires just bought the motorcraft stockers and it went away. the 4.6's have a problem with buring a tiny hole or two in the wire that cant be seen but if that hole is near somthing thats easier to send the spark to it will. electricity is lazy itll go the shortest route. another time my did it and it was the beginning of my fuel pump failing. plug wires are cheaper so i would try that.

i guess i should have said i have new MSD superconductor wires (8.5mm) i used autolite 764's. and i replaced the fuel filter also. im starting to think it is fuel related, probably the pump and or injectors, since one side runs lean and one doesent.

my car use to do that all the time. i spent about 2 months trying to figure it out. changing out/cleaning the spark plugs where a temp fix. I also had a problem with the car not starting up right away, sometimes it would take up to 20 rotations till it started. I eventually changed the wires, it help some, but was not completely fixed, so I changed out the spark plugs again and the problem was fixed. even though the plugs I had in there were brand new, the bad wires made the plugs go bad very prematurely. another problem that may of contributed to the problem was a hole in the fuel line that was inside my tank. so I was also loosing fuel pressure.

heres a picture of the fuel line. it looks like it had been rubbing against something in the fuel tank, and wore a hole in it. I've never heard of this happening to anyone before, but I also know that 98gt's have a different fuel system from the rest of the years.

My car started doing that after I cleaned out my engine bay. Water got down by the plugs and it would miss real bad at low rpm. So i just took the wires out and blow them all out. Works fine now.
