For some reason I thought most tremecs had a whine to them and that was normal. I shift my T-5 like that on a daily basis and still haven't broke anything, so I'm damn sure that tremec should handle it.

I've got the Superduty T-5 from Summit in my Stang. It's basically a regular ole T-5 with beefed up Tremec parts in the gearbox. It's whined since I installed it.

Tremec 3550's & TKO's tend to be noisy in some cars. As long as you run GM Syncromesh for the lubricant and don't let them run low on fluid, they are pretty much bulletproof.

i use the tko, it seems to have a natural whine to it, its possible it could be noise ringing up the driveshaft from rearend. what rearend and gears do you have? i beat the crap out of my tko and its held up greatly at the track, never once had a problem, i used mobil 1 full synthetic atf, couldn't find gm synchromesh when i bought it 2 years ago.

stock 8.8 rear with heavy duty cover with cap supports with 3.55's...and a alum. driveshaft,..im just hoping i didnt hurt the tranny or could i have hurt the clutch or throw out bearing?

does it make the whine on acceleration or all the time, how about when its moving in neutral. it seems you still have the weak traction loc with all the mods listed this seems to be a weak link. i put 2 traction locs in mine before i went to a spool. its a track only car, i wouldn't advise using a spool on the street, they are terrible. my rearend was making whining noise when it was on its way out due to improper backlash from repeated abuse.

My mechanic installed my new tremec tko500 and the frickin thing was leaking so i took it to a different guy and he said the seal where the driveshaft goes into the tranny was too large..wtf, its a new tremec...He put a GM seal in there and it solved my problem...i love it, its beefy as heck , now how do i solve this prob...theres a small puddle of oil under my car every morning...i want it fixed, i hate oil leaks
