i'm looking at getting some valve covers and wanted to know what everyone is using and what they've had success with.

i'm either getting some fox body valve covers and polishing them or buying some ford racing ones

i really like these

I think someone on here has a set of those, only black, and they do fit I just don't remember how he did it. I have stud-mounted rockers so I had to go with a taller cover. I went the fox style route and had to grind/cut away most of the oil baffle. I also had to 'slightly' bend the oil fill tube so my tb would fit. I did not have to use a spacer.

i like the covers RIO. i want to paint everything in my engine bay Glossy black with some polished aluminum parts with red accents and i think those would match perfect.

i really dont want to buy a new set of valve covers and have to cut it up for the alternator tho. was there any other alternative for the alternator to clear?

i'll maybe pick up a set of low profile black trickflows.

In order to get the oil filler neck on the Ford Motorsport valve covers, do you have to weld it?

No you dont, you just use a push in...You have to use one of the pre-fab holes and re-locate the oil tube to CAI line...

Trick flow look nice too, seem some nice paint jobs on them...I almost went that route....I wanted to stick with FRPP stuff....

No way around the alt...i ground some off it, very little as its in an area you really have no meat you can remove...I ended up cutting a 1" dia hole and then fabbing in some aluminum tape inside the VC...when I had the fit correct, I molded inside and out with JB weld...worked the balls and its never leaked...
I would also recommend these more with a Fox TB set-up...you will get screwed with the SN TB hitting the top of the VC bigtime....you could get around it with a 1" spacer, but then your porked if you have the stock hood...

Here's another option..

I also ran these chromes before..requires a 1/2" spacer...Only prob is they cant really be seen....

TFs or the like will be much easier..

Mostly the spacer is for cooler air intake, denser air makes more power...Run you car and then put your hand on the upper...its screaming hot....Pop in a spacer and you can run the mother all day and lay your hand right on it, hardly warm...the heat from the lower doesn't transfer to the upper with the spacer...
