what sensor goes here?

well i found another plug in my engine i didn't see before. i looked on my 89' daily driver and there is a sensor there. it is on the driver's side towards the firewall on the block, not the head. it appears to be the only sensor on the block. heres a pic i found of a 2.3. this is the best i could do for right now.

I would think it would be a knock sensor.... just a guess..

uuhh.. no. i think that would be located on the upper intake. but thanx for the reply.

Actually, the knock sensor is located in the top of the lower intake, right below the face where the upper sits against the lower (knock sensor is on the side facing the firewall)

Anyway, only thing I know of in the location that arrow is pointing at is the sender for the water temp gauge.

i have a n/a. on the turbo intake, the knock sensor is on the lower part. on a n/a, the knock sensor is right on the side of the upper.

i just put a oil pressure snesor in. its a little lower than the oil pressure sensor (on the block, not the head). and a little closer to the front of the engine.
the red arrow in this picture is the oil pressure sensor( not the ECT, sorry guys)

Ya, isn't it that little one wire plug that looks like the oil PR's wire? I want to say the wire for this is in the fuel injection wiring harness but can't remember.

ooh duh. sorry guys you are 100% right. i just installed a oil pressure unit two days ago, i remember now after i just made an @$$ of myself. so a coolant sender is what i am looking for? i just put a ect sensor in. that was located on the top of the bottom intake. so theres a coolant sensor and a coolant sender. i need the sender?

Yeah, you need the sender...or you could just get an aftermarket gauge and put the sender for it there, and it would be much more accurate.

The sender moves the guage. The sensor, in the lower intake, is what relays to the computer.
