Mach1/Bullitt Pedal Install

patience...deadpedal was the easiest for me..the gas was kinda tough but I was able to punch out the pin using some grease without removing it from the car...the brake and clutch were hardest for me...The rubber on those is tougher the opening is smaller than the stock rubber and the metal backing doesnt help flexing...many on here recommend heating them up, using soap and sliding them on like that...good luck

it will look really good once youre done though

Remove the gas pedal assembly and dead pedal - much easier to work with on the workbench. The clutch and brake pedals are a bear...it's just tough to get the covers to stretch around the pads. I hooked one edge on, then worked around it with a couple small screw drivers and a small mirror (so I could see the progress of my work).

Any pointers? The brake and clutch look easy but what about the dead pedal and gas pedal?

The brake and clutch were the worst for me. After 45min trying to get one of them on I took a razor blade, sliced some the backing off the brake and clutch pedal and JB Welded them sum'bitches on.

Dead pedal - I cut the plastic tab off the old one in place and just pulled it right off. Put the new on on and stepped on it to seat it.

Brake and Clutch - Made a diagonal cut in the tab on the back at each corner. Used generous bit of soap on the back and laid it on the pedal. Moved the seat up so I could push em all the way down and then pressed em with my foot and twisted a bit to get em most of the way one. Used a flathead screwdriver to pull the tab the rest of the way over.

Gas Pedal - Take it off and do it out side on the work bench.

like most said dead pedal was easy, brake and cluthc took a little time but for me the gas pedal sucked, I couldnt get the pin back in so I went to Lowes and bought a bolt and nut and used that instead. worked out fine.

After struggling with the brake/clutch, I cut the diagonal sections like others have said, then put them in a bowl of hot water for a little bit and they went on pretty easy about that. The dead pedal I broke the tabs off the back and then stepped on it to get the new one one. The gas pedal, I broke the cheap plastic holding it on, removed the stud still sitting in the pedal assembly and put the new pedal on with a nut and bolt I bought at the hardware store. No problems so far. :flag:

Try to install without cutting.I submerged the brake/clutch pedals in hot soapy(dawn)water. The rubber softens up..work the pedals into place, use a slotted screw driver to get the rear lip to fully cover the metal pedal. Use a mirror to confirm. The soap evaporates, rubber returns to normal texture. Pry off dead pedal. Push the new one on. Gas pedal can be a project.Try to understand the steps before you begin. If you have any doubts, let the agency or performance shop handle it. Good luck, they look awesome.

Use a small (like 3X5 inch) mirror and a couple small, shorter screwdrivers (not stubbies though, you need a lil bit of leverage).
The deadpedal, as said above, will break the plastic tabs on the back of the OEM pad when removing it...and that's ok.

easiest way for me to do the gas pedal: Break that friggin thing off! i ripped it off, chucked it, pull the pin out, and put the new pedal in with the new pin in backwards. Yeah it will be impossible for me to get the pin out now, but i dont plan on changing my pedals again :) so its all good. Took 2 seconds this way, and you dont need to unscrew the whole gas pedal assembly

the 2 hardest for me were the clutch and brake.

Dead pedal I stabbed with a screwdriver and broke it out, the gas predal, you remove 3 bolts the disconnect throttle cable then you have all the time in the world to work with it.

Use hot soapy water to get the clutch and brake on, dont cut em

 HAHAHA! Sometimes when i read how -we- install things on our cars, makes me wonder if Ford Mechanics do the same thing. "joey i cant get this friggen dead pedal out..." "just stab it with a screw driver and rip that friggin thing out"
:rlaugh:

i had another mirror sitting in my passenger seat....i was using a smaller one to check the pedals...the other one was a 5x magnyfing one...guess what the sun caught it and i see smoke all of a sudden...burned my dash a lil
