Hey guys, i am trying to decide what is the best X pipe for my 04 gt. I have flowmasters on it now. People have been saying either BBK or Bassani. Any thoughts.
i just put my upr o/r x-pipe on 2 days ago. i have an american thunder catback. i wouldnt go with bbk or bassani because the have a clamshell design junction go with the upr you wont be dissapointed. i have gotten so many complements in just 2 days. good luck.
One thing that I would consider above all would be to buy one that has the flange that matches the passenger side rectangular manifold. Most of the cheaper ones are just round like the pipe and do not seal very good. I think any X as long as it has this would be a good choice. I believe the Magnaflow is this way. My Mac H sounds good but I have a slight leak. Offroad Mids will give you a ton of a power increase! I just kept my stock catback on and it was huge and sound good enough to me. You will wonder why you did the catback first.
I got my "Mustangtuning" or Pypes o/r X-pipe for about $150. It fits great no leaks and the pipe was very easy to install. I have mine with Mangaflows cat-back and it sounds great. Mustangtuning even has free shipping. Can't beet the price.
I would say it depends on if you want off road or catted. I currently have the magnaflow with the packs and the magnaflow catted x pipe, sounds good but I want louder ( I got greedy ) and I am going to go off road in the spring with the Dr. Gas x pipe.
I had BBK offroad x originaly. I hate the friggin thing. Took it off and put in OEM junk back on until I got Prochamber. Now, I personaly think ProChamber is the best sounding. But surely is not the highest quality unfortunatlly. Now if I'm to goget yet another mid-pipe, I think I'll go with Magnaflow catted x or SLP catted X. They are both high quality pipe from what I'm hearing, and although I prefer sound of H, i like the quality of them two
Dr. Gas all the way out of the hundreds of mustangs in the chicagoland area all of them ask what kind of exhaust I'm running cause it sounds so good. It's also one of the best performance gains I've seen. Only downside is having to weld it together but trust me in my book it was well worth it. If the welding is too big of a downside prochamber is another good choice to go with
I started with a Borla cat back (which sounded good with the stock setup) and added the SLP catted X. The sound is sick now. I am seriously considering switching back to stock bc the setup is friggin loud. Gets a bit anoying in the long run. But if you like a loud setup then my combo definately that.
Well I'm the odd ball here I guess - MRT catted H. Wasn't cheap, but a perfect fit, beautiful piece, awesome sound. My only complaint is that it's still not loud enough. I've got the Flowmaster AT catback. If you want more volume, go with an O/R midpipe.
My other option was the SLP midpipe. The cats are removeable / replaceable with race pipes (essentially blank pipes).
