Cars an 87 auto Gt.

Just put a new fuel pump in.. That was a pain and the ass. :(

Planning on in the next week 1/2 are 4:10's, shorty headers, x-pipe w.o cats, flow's.

Question is, what's some other mods I can do, seeing how the tranny is a stock rebuild and don't want to blow it out.

i'd say a to put a shift kit.. but if anything a converter... o yeah how the hell is a fuel pump job hard?? lol i dropped the tank iin my 86.. stuck a different tank in and pump back in.. in like 2 hours lol

Before you put a converter in there make sure that you have at a minumum a trans cooler on it. Heat is the enemy of the AOD to cooler you keep it the longer you keep it. I would also recommend a shift kit but stay away from the B&M shift kits. I have a transgo but have heard good things about Baumann's.

I am running 4.10s and you can look in my sig and see what else I have. Ran a 14.4 spinning badly off the line. That was before the P heads and FRPP headers though, now I would probably spin worse. :nonono:

4.10 gears, shift kit, cooler and then a 2800-3000 stall converter. My car is mostly stock and that made the biggest difference. It spins very bad all the way through the 60ft on 17/45/245 street radials. So I just bought a 150 shot to make up for lost time in the launch. Yeah, I should get slicks but trying getting any parts for a mustang here in Hawaii in a weeks time.

Gears, shift kit, converter and intake manifold. Those are the basic "bolt on" mods that I'd recommend from my experience. Drag radials, yes. But then you are crossing into what I feel is a shady area of adding non stock appearing items to your car. Which is fine, but seems to me to be kinda a fake way to decrease times from your daily driver since most daily drivers on the road especially imports, dont use such tires. Thats just me tho. I understand that a lot of people wont agree.

Make sure your street tires can handle the converter and gears. If not then your 60 ft times will really suck like mine. With my 4.10's and 3000 stall on 17/245/45 tires they do nothing but spin though the entire 60 ft. I also am trying to keep my car on street tires, thats why I threw on a 150 shot to make up for lost traction......
