I got my MII running today!

Open headers and all... My ears are still ringing and my eyes are burning from the exhaust!!!

New engine sounds great, excellent throttle reponse but I don't know how Low I am going to get it to idle... It sure has a lope to it! I think I might have went just a bit too agressive witht he cam :)

Anyway, I hope to have pictures and video soon! Now to get my exhaust installed!!!

Thanks for everyones help answering questions,
Chad

P.S. Those headers were a bitch to get installed! Hint to those who plan to install headers soon... Don't put the transmission crossover on until you are done installing the headers so you can move the engine/tranny up and down to get the header bolts in! (Just a suggestion but after I figured this out we had them installed in no time!)

Addicted, do you ever go to any shows around kansas city? I only live about 30 miles north of KC.

James,
I am just getting back from a show on Vivan road! There were only about 25 cars there but those are the type where you really get to know the owners!

I really have not had a car to show until now. I ride a Suzuki Intruder 800 Volusia (http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/roadtests/volusia/) most of the time in my leasure but now it looks as if I have another toy! :)

I do plan to start going/showing at some of the smaller car shows around the area but I still have a lot of body work to do! I would be happy to meet-up some time! I live just outside of Liberty! My exhaust should be on by Friday of this week but I am going to baby the new engine for at least 500-1000 Miles (Yes that is going to be very hard to do)!

Ive got alot of work do to my 88 and my dad has a ton to do to his 76 beforeeither of them to be car show worthy. Im going to have to baby my car soon since im about ready to rebuild the motor. It will be hard to do. I work in Platte City so im there most of the time but some times i go do cruize nights up at St. Joe. Every once in a while im down by Barry road and North Oak. James.

That cam has quite a lope to it does it? I'm putting an XE262H in my new motor soon. Hoping for a bit of lope but not too rough. What's the rest of your setup like? I'd love to hear a clip of that camshaft if you have a chance.

No video clips yet but they will be coming in the next week!

Here is my setup so far:
- 66 289 Block .030 over (~10.8 to 1) 306 CID
- 78 302 crank
- 66 Hypo 289 Heads 54cc (Stage 2 ported, polished HD springs, etc...)
- Competition Roller Rockers
- 1405 600 cfm Edelbrock Carb
- Edelbrock RPM Dual plane Intake
- Headman Headers
- Competition Cam (FS XE268H-10) "Extreme Energy" .512 L, 280 D
- Forged TRW Pistons
- Professionaly Blueprinted & ballanced
- RAD4 (for now)
- Stock 3.00 gears
- Stage 2 Centerforce clutch & pressure plate
- Cooper Cobra Radial GT's X 4
- Spintech Pro-Street Mufflers
- Custom 2 1/4" Exhaust

SpinTech "Pro-Street" Mufflers

Got the exhaust finished today but then the damn battery was dead!!! Traced the problem down to the voltage regulator! I sure hope those are easy to find???

Anyway the SpinTech "Pro-Street" Mufflers sound GOOD!!! But they are not as loud as everyone talked them up to be! But they do sound great!

I will try to take an audio clip of them tomorrow.

BTW what timing do you guys suggest me starting with? I believe the stock timing is 6BTDC... Should I just run that timing for the break in period?
