I have noticed this company actually makes a 50oz with the old 65-66 harmonic depth for v-belt alignment. Has anyone used these harmonic balances before? I am finalizing my motor for my mustang and would really not have to fab brackets for the accessories. I was plannign on using the windsor-fox, or ford balancer, but this one look slike it will save me hours on fabing. My motor shoudl make around 385hps when complete so it not to mild.

What does anyone think about these balancers?

Those of you with it how often do you drive your rides?

Mine will be a daily driver. I currently have the stock balancer with modified brackets and an underdrive crank pulley for a 70 302 on it.

Also has anyone used the Ford balance drilled for both 3 and 4 bolt pulleys? I have looked and it states its 3.5 in wide. The stock for perfect alignment is 2.78-3 I believe.

Anything by Professional Products. SUX big time.. quality, fit etc is very low. Very disappointed by the entire line.

The intakes are the WORST garbage I've ever seen.

and yes I'm holding back LOL

That may be, but do you actually have experience with the whole product lin....or just an intake? Maybe give some specifics before condemning the whole company.

I have a PP damper that I needed for the same reason as eveyone else(5.0-->classic), but I have yet to use it. It looks decent, but I knew the possibility of it being junk before I bought it(~$78 eBay). It just nodular iron, so its like a stock replacement, but about $30 less than a parts store.I also compared it to my old 1968 part and the dimensions were the same.

We have experience with the whole product line.

Offshore Junk, plain and simple. They are catching up with their foundry and casting procedures etc. But as of this date.the metal composition is terrible, product finish is horrible. For bone stock replacement MAY be ok, but I wouldn't trust it. If dampener lets go, it can make one heck of a mess.

As for the intakes, the darn things look like they've been put together with a puddy knife. Definitely 2 Thumbs down for the entire line. Cheap low quality rip offs is the name of the game. They are great at that game.

EDIT: Power Bond, ATI and others do make Dampeners that work in the Vbelt config. In either 28oz or 50oz

You're the only person I've seen with negative, specifically about the intakes. Most people simply complain that it's not "buying american" (true enough) but wow you really take them to task. Personally, my experiencewith the intakes specifically, though *I* do not personally own one) is that they were good Edelbrock rip offs.

I personally own the Pro Products SFI damper and the polished aluminum Typhoon Intake. The only fitment problem was the clearance around the distributor to the clip on the dizzy that snaps the cap on. I had to grind the top edge a little to be able to move the dizzy to advance my timing. Fittment is exactly like the Edelbrock that i had on it before except for that minor trimming that needed to be done. The damper was dead on according to my machine shop when the rotating assembly was balance. Maybe you got a bad one?

i bought a PP balancer for my 475hp NA 331. Havent had a chance to use it yet, but my engine builder says that it looks a helluva lot better than ones he has seen come from the parts store.

I also have a polished hurricane PP intake. I test fitted it on my old engine and there was nothing wrong. There is a little bit of smoothing that could be done to the inside of the intake, the runners could be opened up a bit, and the polishing just needs to be touched up. Nothing major at all. For $175 shipped...new, and polished, I couldnt beat it. It was hard to find the equivalent Vic Jr carb intake used and not polished for that price.

Well I actually did more research on the harmonic balancer. It looked good. I finally recieved an email from my connection at Ford and found out that ProStreet makes ford SVO's balancers. I purchased one drilled for 4-3 bolt pulleys. So far it looks ok, however it is 1/8 in bigger so I have to grind my bosses on the front cover to get it to work.
