I am getting my new motor put in very soon and I was wanting to redo my exhaust system. I have stock manifolds right now with a mac pro chamber and warlock mufflers. I am wanting to do mac long tubs and a dr. gas x pipe and 2 chamber flows. How does this setup sound? I am getting a good deal on the x pipe and mufflers so don't try and say that bassani is better or go with something else. I am just curious if any one has this setup.

thanks

What a coincidence. I wonder this as well. I was just offered a set of MAC LT's for $100. The guy that has them works on Stangs in the area and uses Dr. Gas frequently. I told him that I had Flows. He recommended that I use the LT's, Dr. Gas X, and my current flows. I don't know if I wanna do it, though. Everyone says that chambered mufflers sound terrible with an o/r X pipe. I have heard a Fox with this setup .... but it was running extremely crappy, so I couldn't decide if I like it or not.

Anyone in here run an X with chambered mufflers? LT's or shorties? What does it sound like. I have visited donjon's site many times, but alot of the clips on there don't have good quality.

i have a couple videos of my car, i have MAC L/T's, Dr. Gas X, and some flowmasters welded in. It sounds pretty damn good. Im eventually going to get a Bassani cat-back but the flowmasters were already on the car when i bought it as well as an offroad h. I've heard the only x-pipe that sounds good with chambered mufflers is a Dr. Gas. I'll upload a video to streetfire in a few minutes.

i just installed an edelbrock cat back on my 95 with shorties and o/r xpipe for that reason. i wish i would have put chambered muffs on there, i don't care what mid-pipe you run, chambered muffs and the 5.0 are peanut butter and jelly.

I have 4 friends running x pipes and chambered mufflers. All the cars sound real good in my opinion, but each sounds completely different. One is a 1985 with shorties, x pipe, and mac cat back, all else stock. Another is a carbeurated 86 with intake, carb, heads p/p, a cam, and shorties, x pipe, and flomasters. Another is a 1989 with edelbrock intake, trickflow heads, e-cam, longtubes and full 3 inch x pipe and cat back. The last was a cobra with a 306, victor 5.0 intake, edelbrock heads, cam, an s-trim, bassani longtube headers, x pipe, and mac cat back. So they range from almost stock to modified. In my opinion they all sound really good, wich is why i just got a upr x pipe for my car.
