Finally started working on my center console

Finally started working on my center console(update-DONE)

still need to fiberlgass the guages nto the front part(not shown) and the finish the armrest and wrap the center pieces.The arm rest will flip up for storage as well as the section below it.Might be done tomorrow.

I have a local place thast sells upholstery,I was gonna do the center in suede,but i already boght the tweed a while back.I was going to do a painted top,but the weather hasnt been warm enough to paint in my garage(low 70's).

I was going to 'glass in a 7" screen,but there really isnt a lot of room under the dash for guages and a screen,then the shifters moevment.Ill make a housing for the screen and put it over the factory radio and mount the DVD in the storage in the console.

MDF is some heavy stuff, no doubt about that. Of course any weight gain can be compensated for with MORE POWAH!

How do you plan on securing the counsel to the car tunnel through the carpetting. It looks great. I had thought about doing something like this bu tmaybe the hump hugger would just be a little easier

I have heard some people express disappointment in the quality of the hump huggers.... that is a good question about securing it. I would assume you could do sometype of bolt up under the dash. My question is how would I mount my automatic shifter in something like this so it looks good.

im going to finish the arm rest lid right now and the bondo is drying for the guage panel to angle them and be smoothed.Should be done tomorrow.then im bored again

Also,it fits so tight under the dash and aginst the speaker box,there no need to secure it......yet
