quick IAC question

whats the price difference? I'd say go with the Ford part if the price is close. Don't know about the hole size...never had the idle issue thankfully. Look on that hanging rpm thread for that info. It was just on the main page a day or 2 ago so it shouldn't be hard to find.

ford is about $100 and autozone is about $50
Damn 100 dollars now!!!! I paid 35 for mine @ 2000 when mine failed and i remember someone posting they paid 70 a few months ago. Fords makes a crap products then jacks up the price cause of the demand.

The autozone one can't be any worse than the Ford IAC, I have found I have to change mine about every 40,000 miles, although the current one is at 50,000 and still going.

I agree about the IAC being a p.o.s., however, instead of buying a new one, clean it out with brake cleaner & reuse, it works fine & its free.

I agonized over this very question just last week and due to the fact that Wells sucks, I bought the Motorcraft IAC. I even made a poll on it but I am too lazy to link it...

But in this case, so does the ford part. My autozone IAC has lasted two years so far, which is about twice what the first one I bought lasted which was a MotorCraft IAC. I am all about MotorCraft Filters & parts, but in this case for half the price and equal or better reliability, I'd have to say go with the autozone part.
