My starter died yesterday, when i turn the key it just makes that clicking sound. I wanted to see where it is located so i can hit it and see if it would start so i can drop it off at my mechanics house. From facing the car what side is ot on and under. My car is a 92 coupe 5.0 btw.

when facing the car its on the left side, its easy to get to it from under the car

lets say if you were to put your body under your car on your back, it would be on the right side looking up, its more toward the front of the car, its big cylinderish and black and metal (usually)

it may also be your starter solenoid that went or is bad.

if you are to open your hood and look at your engine from the front, its located on the right side by the ignition wires, says diode something on it

I still can't see the starter in that pic?

That's because it's not there. It was removed for the clutch kit replacement. I usually rest them somewhere on the frame when they need to be removed when I am removing the bellhousing. Usually it's put on the k-member, but I have no idea where it was in that picture. I was trying to give the original poster a general idea.

I already talked to my mechanic later today and he said he'd come here first thing tomorrow morning. I appreciate all the pics and help guys. I tested everything myself and i know its the starter. How much does a reman starter go for ?60?

didnt read posts but it's 99% most likely your battery dead. even if you tried jumping it it wouldn't start, theres not enough juice in the battery to power the starter, so the relay just clicks n clicks

It was the starter,i knew it couldn't be anything else cause my battery is new and my alternator was bought new 2 years ago when i bought the car. I just got a reman one.I could see it now from my engine bay cause its silver, and i can see it under the car perfect. The old one was soo dirty and black there was no way for me to see it. I got it fixed with labor for $100 bucks, dam that was going towards my c\c plates too. Now i have to wait one extra check to get them along with my lowering springs.
