performance button in a saturn

so i was riding in this girls saturn the other day, and she had a toggle switch that said performance on it and it would light up when i put it on. what do these buttons do like change shift points or something? i really have no clue what it does and i am just a little curious. can anyone explain this to me?

Some Kias have this too. Pretty funny if you ask me.

Imagine what people's explanation would be if they were asked what exactly the "power button" does. LOL They should do it, on Leno or something, he likes cars.

There is another car I've seen with a real "Power" button on it- it's the new BMW M5 and M6s. both have the same powertrain- V10 with a 7speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. With the Power button off the engine "only" produces 400hp but with it on it jumps to 507hp :) Now that's a real power button :) I'm sure Bimmertech can tell you more :)

LOL. So are you guys gonna make fun of me when I get my supercharged Sky roadster?

Hell no....that new saturn looks GOOD to me. I love the new direction they are going in and they have a pretty decent price too. Are you really gonna get one? If u do, post up pics. I've only seen one on the street...it was black...and it looked SHARP.

you saw a new sky, i didnt even think they started production yet. i like the sky, i would drive one.

Im not sure who was driving it...i didnt see the plate. Just saw the side...to the front view of it driving down the road.

Saturn is definately making moves to change its image of what a "Saturn" is. Im thinking for the price of the sky, its gonna do great. We'll see....

6-cyl. turbo T-birds had performance buttons. it changed the timing and i'm sure some other things. it says you have to put 92 or high octane in to use the performance switch.

There is no such thing as a 6-cylinder turbo production T-bird. The SC'd 3.8L in the Thunderbird SC had to have high octane all the time, and they did not have a performance button. Some of them have a toggle switch for the suspension, to switch from "auto" to "firm".
