Noobie - Need brake upgrade

I just got my 67 mustang

It has 4 drum brakes and well.......THEY SUCK!!!!

I have around $350 bucks to spend on brakes....anything out there for that price for better breaking??

Is the $350 scarebird Mechanical Front Disc conversion from rockauto.com ny good??

IMO the scarebird kit is the ticket for those of us on a crappy budget that want some nice brakes.

Scarebird just sells the adpater brackets and the instructions. Rockauto just happens to be the cheapest best place to get the rest of the stuff.

Sure, please tell us BEFORE you order what rims you plan to use. We are having a hell of a time trying to make a budget setup fit inside the 76 5-1/2" wide steel rim...

Our S10 calipered setup work well, but needs a 15" rim...

Is your car V8 or inline 6? If it is a six then yes, those brakes suck. If it's an eight and has the V8 suspension and brakes (5 wheel lugs) then rebuilding them is a cheap option as well. The V8 system is actually pretty damn good for these light weight cars for the budget impaired.
