Got her all cleaned up today for a show I'm going to on Saturday. So I thought I would post a few pics of the engine.

Well, only about 30 minutes It does help that I keep it cleaned up so it takes less time to get it back to real clean.

This time I used a little different cleaner than usual and then used NO TOUCH. It wasn't really no touch because wherever it hit, it left a white speckled residue. So I ended up actually wiping all of it down with a rag to get rid of the speckles. But it does look better than ever before.

It would look cool with a T4, but she's my daily driver and I depend on her everyday, so I really can't afford any downtime to convert. With the dual plugs, I'm not sure people even know its a 2.3 or not. My exhaust is tucked up underneath so there is no clue when the hood is down what is under the hood for sure.

That's an extemely clean Stang!! Just my $.02 here, instead of spending time cleaning, you should be spending time building! Find yourself a turbo motor, put it on a stand, take your time, build it right and drop it in! Some minor wiring changes, R&R the computer with an LA3 and you can swap in the new motor in a weekend! Have you ever driven a true turboford? It is truly an experience you won't soon forget! Once you've gone turbo, you'll never go back!!

Alright, Alright. You have talked me into it. I will now be accepting donations for this project. Please send me 10% of your next paycheck and for the next year thereafter and I'll do it.




Maybe some day, but not in the near future. I'll keep it as an open option when I am able to get another daily driver and put this baby up for weekend duty.

Well the show was Top 25 for 1974 and newer and there were just a few less than 25 there so a trophy was a definite. But anyway here are some more pics from the show and my little girl picking up the award. It was a nice wall plaque so they left it in the box to protect it.

First off... WOW! So clean!

Now for the question...

What cleaner did you use?

I usually use Castrol Purple degreaser from wal-mart, but this time I used a multi-purpose cleaner from Beats Um All. I also use their wax and have for the last 10 years. It is a line of products that I get thru a distributor, but you can find a place to order on the internet, just do a search. The cleaner is great for carpet, and everything, very concentrated. But my engine was not and never has been very dirty. I have kept in clean from day 1.

All I want to know is.....when are you going to clean mine I try and keep mine clean but it's a huge PITA to keep anything clean in West Texas.

WOW! That's cleaner than mine after I rebuilt it and I went as far as acid washing the aluminum brackets and intake halves. It certainly isn't that clean now!

Nice job! not just with the engine bay, but the whole car. The interior is amazing. Even the map pockets aren't sagging.

EDIT: The split loom over the top of the radiator was a slick idea. Good thinking!!

Yea, I couldn't see getting paint to stick on top of the radiator, so it just worked nice with the 3/4" wire loom. The radiator brackets I took off, sanded and painted with high heat paint about 3 yrs ago. Man, August 28th she will be 13 yrs old
