:D im looking into buying a twin turbo setup for my car and i was thinking of what all i would need to upgrade in my car to make it run with them if you have any ideas please post them :SNSign:

It seems maybe you should focus on some other things before going right to a twin turbo kit? From your post it looks like you might be sort of new here. Have you thought about what you are going to do for supporting mods? What you plan on doing for your motor, transmission and suspension to be able to handle the power you will get. You might want to research a bit more before jumping into a twin turbo.

you better not run much over 7 psi or you will need a new bottom end. the 4.6 (except 03-04 cobras) will only handle 420 rwhp. i would recomend a bottom end first so taht you can actually use those turbos for something. you also need all the piping, intercooler, injectors, MAF, tubular k member, coilover suspension, and a good tune

the kit JMS is making looks sick (with the turbos mounted in the side scoops), but I'm sure it will have major lag with the distance...

well that was the reason for asking what it would all intale b/c i am getting a good price for them and i would just like to have a good idea on what else would be needed to get it done. if i installed it now i would definatley not be pushin over 6 psi. Just need a few comments on what should be done to push more out of them on my motor.

Im going to run 8PSI.

Ok lets clear something up here. PSI is a measure of resistance. So 8PSI from a turbo will be just as "hard" on the engine as from say a KB. But at that given PSI the turbo will GREATLY outpower the kenne bell.

Why? Because your not turning a supercharger...think about how hard the engine has to work to turn the thing. Your belt has to be SUPER tight inorder to keep from slipping..thats taking ALOT of power to turn. But a turbo has almost no parisitic loss (save for the exhaust restriction) and is almost free boost.

So the "420RWHP limit" doesnt really apply to the turbo setups. Reducing drag or parisitic loss (U/D pulleys, windage trey, electric WP, not turning a S/C, ect) doesnt put any measurable amount of added stress on your engine...its just reducing losses due to friction. :nice:

Thats why im not TOO worried about 8PSI....but since I have cams thats going to put me upthere pretty good I think.

In short 8PSI from a turbo (if properly intercooled) is no harder on the engine than 8 PSI from any other S/C...the only difference is the boost curve.

And in that case the kenne bell would be harder on the engine than a turbo, but the centries would be the least....if you want to look at it like that.

so your turbo 4.6 will be able to handle more than my s/c 4.6? i thought the limit on the bottom end was based on HP. so would the limit on the turbo still be 420? i dont think it makes a differance what type of poweradder you have as far as the bottom end goes. i know that there is nearly no parasitic loss with a turbo so less boost makes greater HP. your turbo at 8 psi should put out more power than my novi at 11psi.
