What is the best overall shifter out for a 2002 Mustang Gt. I have the 3650 tranny. I have used a Hurst shifter back in my old '89Gt and I loved it! Opinions please!
great stuff right there.Wes28376 said:There are a few questions you really shouldn't ask on this forum or you are going to start a huge debate based on opinions rather than facts. The top five in my "Opinion" are:
1. What gears should I use 3:73's or 4:10's
2. What is the best shifter for my car?
3. H pipe or X pipe?
4. What is the best supercharger?
5. I have such and such mods and he has such and such mods, who will win?
And now my opinion on the choices for shifters. I have driven Mustangs with the T45 equipped with the Triax (mine) and the MGW (friends). I would have to say the Triax is a little stiffer with its shifts, but that’s the way I like it. What really separates the two shifters is the adjustability of the MGW. You can set it up in many different variations to find the best position for you. For this reason I find the MGW a nicer shifter. I bought the Triax long before the MGW was out but if I were to purchase a new shifter I would choose the MGW hands down, no questions asked. The bottom line is that no matter what shifter you buy (Triax, 5.0, MGW) its going to be better than the stock piece of crap that comes on the car.

No problems at all with installation. It was one of the first installs I ever did on any car (I've still only done a few), and thought it was easy.Tim2002GT said:Looks like MGW it is! Anyone have any problems with reinstallation (shift boots) or anything?
