Installing X-Pipe on 2000. What should I expect?

BOut time you take off that damn restrictive midpipe. Its gonna sound oh-so-sweet and you don't need the extensions, just the new gasket for the passenger side and some MIL-Eliminators.

Damn! Seems like everyone here knows me as "the guy who supercharged his car with a stock midpipe". :rlaugh: :rlaugh:

I need MIL eliminators? the X has 2 cats though.

oh, nevermind, if its catted then you shouldn't need them, my bad. BTW, thats what i know you as :rlaugh: . Get some headers to go with the midpipe and watch your numbers JUMP.

But I don't really need it to be any faster! lol. Well, maybe 400rwhp would be nice. :nice: But I'm saving to move out now and I just got a new job, soooo I need to stop spending $$ on the stang

just as a suggestion get some PB Blaster and spray down all your bolts about 2 hours before you try to take it off.
Makes it much easier. Even if you are using air then it's even easier

Its an easy swap man, I had fun doing mine... well, except for the fact that I have long hair and it got stuck in one of the wheels on the creeper. That was the biggest PITA about it....:nonono:

So are you guys saying that there is only a flange gasket on the passenger side or that's the only one with a tendancy to leak? I had the dealer replace my stock h pipe under warranty about a month ago. I've had it in 3 times because of it leaking and stinking up the inside of the car since and they claim there's nothing wrong with it. I'm thinking about giving up and just going under there myself to deal with it, my guess is that it's the gasket that they didn't replace originally.

Hope I'm not hijacking the thread, just thought you guys could lend an opinion. Thanks

The driver side is a gasket-less ball flange. You only need one gasket on the passenger side.
