Cars been sitting for 8 years...What to do?

Super nice! White face guages, billet pedals (and door power window switch plate) and strut tower braces didn't come on them as I recall, and front springs need a looksee, hanging about 1 1/2 low. Real nice example of the breed, though, congrats on the find!

Mine had been sitting for 5 years or so and then driven for a few months. It needed new hoses, new belt, thermostat, radiator. Just to make sure I went ahead and changed the Idle Air Control and Throttle Position Sensor as well. I also put a 2nd ground cable on it (battery wire from driver's side head to front sway bar) and that livened the interior lights and accessories up quite a bit I gave it a tune up which was badly needed too.

How much did yo upick that thing up for man? It looks really clean, I agree with everyone else keep that thing in the shape that it is!

I think I just fell in love. That interior is spotless!!! I would love to have that thing for a DD so I can stop drivin my 235000 miles beast.

You all will probably **** but I bought it for $5000.00. But I had to sink about $1200.00 into it to get it to pass emissions and inspection. Due to the car sitting so long It needed all new shocks. Wheel bearings and rotors had to be replaced. needed new headlights, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil. new tires.

That is a good deal for that car. I see ones all the time with that kind of mileage going for twice as much! Nice find!

That was kinda the same situation as me. Mine only had 16k on it, apparently the car was sitting for many years as well. body was very dull looking with water stains on the windows and paint. Mine still had the silencer, original tune up items(still has the origial tune up items, wires are dated to 1993) The biggest thing was it still had the factory Goodyear Eagles on it, dryrotted badly. I drove to Fla to get mine after finding it on the internet. I paid about $5000.00 for it. I took tires with me to replace the ones it had( I work @ a tire dealer). The seller told me the tires were shot. Replaced the tires and then drove back to Charleston 4hrs. Engine didnt miss a beat and the a/c froze us out the damn thing. Still has the original speakers in the doors and rear panels and dash. Had the original tape player (which I still have) and there was an old tape in the car so my wife said wtf and plugged it in and it worked.
I needed to replace 1 rear wheel bearing. Thats all, oh yea 20somthing thousand more miles later and had to replace the throw out bearing due to noise, someone metioned radiator, I had to replace mine as well, developed a slight leak from tank.
I changed all fluids and the fuel filter, new belt and hoses with radiator.

Well i am sorry to say this but I might have to sell this car. My wife and I talked (argued) and we decided to seperate. She said she will try to get my mustang but I would rather sell it first. I am really bummed. I do not know what to do. Please give insight.
