sorry to here about you stang.

if it helps I work at Mustang Auto in El Cajon but we don't do paint. If you want you can stop by an we can give you a written estimate for everything else that you could take to your insurance company.

another vote for stangwerks. i talked to owner (i think his name was ed) and they do some great work. mag cars and all, and they will set them insurance people straight. put it this way, they offered to drive down to tucson and pick up my cobra for the cost of gas.

thanks guys...Ontario is about 130 miles away from where I am and if they are willing to pick the car up for the cost of gas geez I guess I could bring it there..But convience wise thats going to hurt.

Mustang Auto gosh wish you did paint!

I'll say that I know Eddie personally since i used to handle his interior work for him and he stands behind his work.Give him a call and he WILL set the insurance like it was said. When my car is ready for paint again, i totally trust him to do my car.

You can try Alden Farris at 1625 Market St, SD. They have been trusted to do some of the best work in SD for decades. My father bought it from Mr. Farris back in the 50's and it has gone through a couple of owners since then, but still has the rep. They are now owned by a local Mercedes dealer. They did my '66 when someone backed into it - not as bad as yours. It came out perfect.

STANGWERKS

We do their cage work and custom suspension work, in fact i have Eddie's personal Mach 1 in my shop getting a 4130 TIG welded roll bar setup. He is a super nice guy and really is top shelf work. WE are very anal with quality and our SEMA 66' fastback will be going there for paint and body work. I know at least 30 good shops but i will only trust our cars to one great shop, STANGWERKS.

You are a claimant. The insurance company has NO RIGHT WHATSOEVER to tell you what to do. You can go where you want, when you want and get it fixed. The contract with the insurer was with the guy that hit you--he has some agreements with his insurance company. You cannot be held to terms you did not agree to. Sorry to see such an ugly dent in such a nice car. :(

Now, go get it fixed whereever you want. :D

Absolutely! I filed a claim with my insurance after a guy bumped into me when leaving the Fabulous Fords Forever show at Knotts' last month. They told me to take it wherever I want to get it fixed. They would forward the bill to the other guy's insurance. One of the shops that I went to for an estimate also told me this was California Law that since the accident wasn't my fault, I could go wherever I choose for the repairs.
