Old question about lifters knocking

I searched for an answer, but couldnt find what I was looking for. As we all know, that dang lifter knocking sound when cold is driving me nuts. Was there ever a solution to this problem other than letting the car idle? I know a recall isnt available, so Im checking to see if anyone knows what the deal is on this..... again

Well from what I recall nobody ever really answered this issue with a "why".. more like a "this is normal."

You can try a thinner oil and see if it flows upward more quickly at startup, but in the end, if it's just noisy lifters, it's just noisy lifters.. and short of pulling everything apart and replacing.. it's just a PITA.
