too many vins?

WEll I finally found my 67 fastback. and im in to that excited, but exploring all the work it needs stage. I noticed on the front clip there is 3 locations where the vin is stamped? I dont remember this on my coupe. theres the one we all see then 2 more, one on each side, under the fender. they are all the same, but why are they stamped so many times? is this normal?

All cars had more than one VIN on the fender aprons. The easily visible one is on the driver's front. The other one or two will be on the passengers side and is hidden under when the fender is mounted.

I have also seen double stamps on one side or the other. As long as they all match you are ok.

I saw the same thing on my '67 fastback when I took the fenders off. One VIN on the driver side, two under the fender on the passenger side. You're fine.
