No, it takes less rotation of your steering wheel to turn the car in a corner than the stock(old) rack and pinion.
For "example" only:
Lets say it took 4 rotations of the steering wheel to the left before you could not turn it any more. With the quick ratio it would take, lets say 3 rotations. Thats why they call it a "QUICK RATIO". It takes less physical movement in the steering wheel to turn the tire the same amount, so you get to the desired turning degree qiucker.
I got it to help with road racing (SCCA) type of racing....lots of turns and some very tight ones too.
