I have a 2006 GT...Ok so im having a problem with detination. My current mods r S&B intake, Pypes axle backs, Pypes O/R X pipe and a DynoTune nitrous kit. Im running a 100 shot. I have an SCT Tunner and the tunes are from Brenspeed. I have a 100 Shot tune and a 125 shot tune.... Ok so when im running my nitrous it pulls good thru second and most of third but when i hit about 4k i start detinating really bad!! So tune try and eliminat this i put on the 125 shot tune with the 100 shot and still i get the detination but not as much. Then i changed my fuel jet to the 125 shot and left the nitrous jet as the 100 shot. And the car pulled much harder but i still get the detination. I can't even touch 4th witht the nitrous on cause the car starts detinating so bad!!!! Does anyone know what the problem can be??? Any sugestions will really help. Thanks.

Thats what im guessing the problem is. I have the SCT tunner. Im going to try and add more fuel with it and see if that help. But i have alot of fuel already with the 125 fuel jet in there. Ive heard of people not even needing to tune for a 100 shot. My tune brenspeed provided has a ton of timing taken out and more fuel. But ill give it a shot and see if that helps

This interests me because I'm gonna be running pretty much the same setup once I finish the install. Its the Zex 75-175 wet kit. If I were you I would call Brenspeed right away and talk to Dave and Brent. See what they say. Did you change to colder spark plugs? It is a general rule to retard timing 2 degress at every rpm level when you step up in 25hp increments. Example 100hp shot timing is retarded by 2 degrees - 125hp shot timing is retarded 4 degrees. Sounds like they messed up the upper rpm 4000-8000 timing retard. If I were you I would also invest in a A/F gauge. You really shouldnt be messing with switching the jets around to add more fuel and stuff. Let me know how you make out. Thanks, Chris

Yea i contacted them about the tune and they pretty much said their tune is safe and a tune of other people use it so they don't know what the problem is... I didn't switch to colder plugs cause they said the stock ones were perfectly safe. I have yet to burn one yet. I know its in the tune. I live in AZ and they tune for Indiana so im sure thats the problem. The only reasone i didn't do a dyno tune is cause of money and i heard great things about brenspeeds tunes.

You may want to check your fuel pressure and volume. If your fuel delivery is weak due to a restricted filter or weak fuel pump, the engine will go lean no matter what jet you install.

On any power adder, you really need a dyno tune. Every car is different, and reacts differently to mods. While Brent's tunes are decent, when you move up to power adders you really need a dyno tune to get everything dialed in just right. Not only will it be more safe, you'll see better gains.

Need dyno tune!

I searched for my detination problem in 3rd gear WOT @ 5k for 2 months before just taking the time to go to the dyno.

My problem, simply the tunes were a little hot (EVERY car is different) and caused me to detonate: I changed fuel pump, filter, plugs, sensors, only put 93 exxon...

2 hrs on dyno, problem solved.

You are running on borrowed time. Get your car to a dyno immediately or stop running the squeeze. Detonation is very bad and if you are still having troubles don't mess around anymore, see a dyno for tuning. Your motor will only take so much. Good luck.
