What is a better combo?

A good h/c/i blown car is going to run quicker, all else being equal.

A good h/c/i 347 is something nice as well. Probably a little less "hiccups" to mess with as well...

I guess the real question is "Better for what?"

Exactly :nice:

Look at my sig combo and consider it has just 50K miles
so
The block is fairly tight and fresh
so
I see it as practical to use the OEM block

Considering all that ... a blower at low boost could be very practical ... For Me

Now ... Say I had a high mileage motor with just a few minor bolt ons
but
Nothing like the aftermarket stuff I now got :nono:

Then ... You Bet :nice:

An all motor 347 would be on the short list
or
Maybe ... a fresh 302-306 with a blower :spot:

See where I'm going here? :)
as I currently am ...
Most of my combo would be too small if I decided to go 347 :(
and
I'm not a good candidate for a high boost setup

Hey ... Its all about application :D
and
That application can be influenced by ... circumstances ;)

Neither :nono:

They are just different :D

Circumstances could make one more preferable to the other ;)

:Word:

a centrifugal supercharger on an otherwise stock gives good drivability because at low rpms, it is essentially stock, but at high rpms, the boost kicks in and you get an extra kick in the pants. also, the stock cam is actually pretty good for superchargers because it has little (if any) overlap

Tom - Personally, I would go with an N/A combination in this case for a daily driver.

IMHO ... As time passes ... David just seems to be posting stuff that becomes
more and more practical :hail2:

I agree 100% :nice:

Tom

I'm gonna tell you something you may not want to hear

As long as you have ONLY your Stang for a DD .....

You would be wise to not go TOO radical with your plans :Word:

yea i just want some healthy horsepower, enough to kick any honda away because their are that certain few, i emphasize few that are pretty quick and the occasional camaro or trans-am that i see out on the streets and also some personal satisfaction when i'm burnin tires through the gears lol

Since you're wanting driveability, I would go with the blown 306. It will also be a little more fun to drive if you do autocross or open track days cuz it will rev better.
If you want a street/strip, I would go with the 347 for more torque.
Personally, the blown 306 sounds kick a$$ to me:D
