Changin the Paint Color..Easy?

I bought a project 01 Mustang which I bought a 03 cobra kit ( front bumper, rear bumper, skirts, scoops hood) wingless trunk, all different colors, plus fixed a dent on one of the doors so its primed. Basically it looks like **** right now but i got a good price so can't complain since I new I was going to change all those parts anyways.

I will be painting the entire car so I was going to change the color while Im at it, Its currently silver and not digging it much (not sure what but leaning towards black).

My questions is can the engine bay be painted? I know the door insides and trunk inside can but when u open the hood the sides will be different color, I can't imaging how you can paint that without taking the engine out...

I was going to ask the guy painting my car later this month but he is out on vacation

Thanks

1. Black is the hardest and most labor intensive color to make look good, lost of wet sanding and respray to make the weight look even.
2. Changing the color or a car is almost 2X the work. Those small places like the door jams, trunk and engine bay are a ******.

just go dark silver, graphite with some gunmetal rims

changing the color the right way is a pita man. i wouldnt recommend it at all. yes u would want to pull the engine along with any wires and brake booster, anything mounted to the fire wall etc. if i were u i wouldnt bother changing the color. just leave it silver

I already got quoted on the complete paint job by a family friend and it was not to bad (includes door jams and trunk) so I'm ok with the price..I just didn't take into consideration the engine bay so I hope it doesn't cost to much, I was hoping something I could do. As far as the color goes, it doesn't matter since its already in the price, just have to pick something I like which is kind of cool :D

I just don't like how the cobra kit looks on Silver mustangs

If you change the color and want it to look good, gotta pull the engine to paint the bay. Try to stick with a color that is close to the current color.

Yeah I figurd you would have to pull the engine, I was hoping there was a trick, like with a brush or something..

i say just paint the car what you want and leave the engine bay it's color. It wont look too bad

Thats what I say, I'll try to photoshop some pics to see
