Anyone know what is the breaking point on a T5 transmission? Evidently I have supassed the threshold. I am on my second rebuild in 3 month. The main gear is corn cobbed.
Its not that much, it wont handle a lot of TQ for long. Why do you want to know what the breaking point is if your obviously above it? Just get a TKO or a G Force.
yeah well thats 4k...I am actually going next weekend to springfield motorsports to get it de-tuned..Never thought id ever say that! Just till I have the cash to upgrade

Well the tranny held up till the last dyno tune..I knew it was the weakest link...Im broke now anyway. freaking head gasket lifted.....I think I am just going to get a bigger supercharger pully for a while...T5 should stay together w/ 5-8psi...I tell ya redline it hasnt been a good month for my pride and joy
2k is w/out the bellhousing, shortening the driveshsft....I was thinking of buying the g-force package and having a buddy of mine that owns his own tranny shop build it..

T-5 trannys are rated for somthing like 265-285 ft/lb (T-5z= 305) . I got a G-force and had it in for <2200. Of course that is on a classic. But wait...your name says 93 so you should have the same setup as me.
yep 93 cobra. I have no idea why they would put that piece in a cobra. I have heard of T-5's lasting a while at the track, but as soon as the street warmed up I smoked mine twice. The first time I was under the impression that it was just wear and tear then it happened again. I guess that last dyno tune did it...
