Like the title says...Pay attention! I did a real bonehead thing yesterday. I drove my car the farthest I have ever driven it. From Orlando to Gainesville and back. I got home and parked it telling myself to get gas in the morning. After driving for a while I noticed the low fuel light was on and I was waaaaaaaay low on the needle. Of course there wasn't a gas station near by so I had to drive a ways to get to the first one I saw. As i parked it and pulled the e/brake, I reached up to turn the car off and I ran out of gas at the pump...I guess the bright side is that I got 325 miles out of that tank.

They also tend to suck the crap on the bottom of the tank. Filter sock might have alot of crud on it

Mine dont have a low fuel light :(
Are all Aeros lightless

Not a very smart move driving with your gas tank that low.
If I were you I'd replace my fuel filter because running your
gas tank that low will contribute to clogging up your fuel filter
from sucking up the deposits from the very bottom of your
gas tank.
Motorcraft fuel filters are the best option for Fords.

i got a new fuel filter to put on when i do my oil change tomorrow. it just so happens that it turned 50,000 on the way home from gainesville. I dont know how the previous owner took care of it so, when i get my coils from rpm outlet (that i ordered march 7) im going to put some new plugs in it also, and run some seafoam through it and just give it a good look over.

Yup yup, pre 99 have NO light

87-89 Mustang GT's have a low fuel light.

When mine comes on, i have about 3 gallons. I've let it go pretty low. I know i'm pushing it, but i like to get gas at one station. One time i drove 45 miles on the highway with the low fuel light. I did 325ish Miles that tank :)

My 84, 86 had one  I coulda sworn my 92 had one too, just ubove the steering wheel instead of beside it  But I know my 84 and 86 had one below the stereo.

And Rabid, Ford will always think people are stupid. Look at some of the crap they build and what they charge for it :rlaugh:

Yeah thats true with some of their crap, but when I was having to do alot of work on the GT the only place I could get some parts quickly was through Ford and Honestly thay were cheaper than the auto parts. For example rear tranny seal, tranny mount, motor mounts(everyone claimed they couldnt get them for a week, motor mounts and I was getting rid of the car in 2days, ford got them in that afternoon).

As for the gas I have made 375 miles on a tank, the gt that is and all hwy.

375 miles? Wow, that would be nice. I usually get just above 200 miles/tank driving around town. Get about 15 mpg depending on how hard I drive. I'm sure I can thank the 4.10s for a lot of that though...

Yeah but thats all hwy,on the GT I would get around 225 in town,I really havnt payed attention to the in town mileage on the Mach yet,I only use maybe $25 in gas a week or so.Ive heard that with Mach's using 4.10's in town can improve mileage...:shrug:Ive read it on the net a few times.
