100LL Aviation Gas?

Are you wanting this stuff for daily driver duty, or just for the odd track event? Mixing some with your pump gas the odd time to increase your over all octane shouldn't hurt, but putting your car on a steady diet of the stuff is going to have you going through O2 sensors on a reguar basis. :notnice:

just add TOULENE to your gas, this is the octane booster from the gas corp. Works REALY well on a fi eng . just loook up home made octane boosters, that will take you to a few forums on the mix! One talks about a few older turbo cars running 12-28 lbs of boost and realllyyyy liking the higher "cheaper"octane over very pricey race fuel? worth a look

I nearly tried this myself on the 2.3. I bought a can of xylene but never got around to dumping it in the tank. I have no doubt it is effective and works well. I guess I was scared off because of reports of very excessive EGTs. I can't confirm or deny this obviously because I never tried it and I don't have an EGT gauge.

I am however running ethanol very successfully. I run E85 (105octane) full time in the 2.3. I can't seem to run more than 22psi on the current turbo (rediculous backperssure because it's too small) but I was able to bump the timing a bunch. I've run up to 30% ethanol in the 97 with absolutely no changes. Obviously, it isn't helped by extra octane since it is tuned for 87. It did get rid of some annoying detonation at full load that I've noticed for the last 60k miles. It must have been a dirty fuel injector that got cleaned nicely by the alky.
