Do you know if the fuel pump has ever been replaced thats where I would start have a buddy listen for it when you turn the key on and if still cant hear it I would check the connector at the pump and maybe use a multi meter to see if you have power to it and work your way forward from there. And if you dont know if its ever been replaced and have plans for upgrades to the car it might be worth your while to go ahead and put a 255lph pump in it if you've got the funds, you can get a descent pump for under $100.

On an '88, the inertia switch is on the control side of the FP relay.

Run Jrichker's Cranks but No-Start checklist. It's in the Useful Tech sticky.

Good luck.

The relay under the seat was it green?thier is also a self test connector located below brake booster.its a 4pin type.looking at plug tapers on top ,the end holes will look like upsidedown T the one on the right turn key to run use a wire and ground it pump should come on

yea the relay is green.... and if it comes on when i do the jump them what that mean.. thanks carl

If the pump comes on u will need a fuel pressure tester.you need to know hi pressure is and does it hold pressure 4 3min after turning off.check 4 power at relay.orange with lite blue stripe should be hot. The pk/bk wire goes to fuel pump.the red with black stripe goes to inertia switch.the tan and lite green is the ground from the eec self test plug.
