2002 gt, with saleen kit, plus sky roof

Man there is alot of bashing in here. I really like the 197a glass roof and think it would look killer on a New Edge Stang
Like everyone said though, if its not specific for the Stang then I wouldnt get it. IDK about the any problems though as I have never seen it done before........
Hey, I have seen that sig and avatar befoe. Were you banned or something before?

I say go for it to each his own if it makes you happy who cares what anyone thinks as long as its done right. If you do it put some pics up and who knows if the stang looks good over all it may make it to the mag.

as i vision it the car is going to look rather different, after all, i love Mustangs and i am not bashing anyone else's, but i want one that is a little more original. Most of theis is going to take time because money is of course an issue. The saleen kit will be on by summer, by the end of summer i am hoping to get a custom mustang-into-flame ghost flame (black) running down the side with gold flake paint coming from the head of the mustang all the way down to the end of the flames, it will be very light. I haven't decided on rims, new grille and finally (under debate, hence this thread) the sky roof. My concerns with the sky roof is any leakage. the one that was pulled up from above has a more aggressive styling with which i dont like the roof, but with what i am doing it should look good. As far as track legal is concerned i will have to check into. im pretty sure that will be based on what is used for the roof. No i have not been banned before.....i made that mustang picture with photoshop recently with three pictures of my car and mustang text i found online. I will be posting pictures as the car gets closer and closer to what i want to accomplish with it. It is a dd for atleast the next three years so that will be my time dedicated to aesthetics. after that i may start adding more performance based items. as the signature says now it does run a 13.1 so it isn't too bad but there is more circuit mods then anything, like the racing suspension and cobra brakes, etc. all opinions about anything i said here is more than welcome, i love to know what you guys all think. :D:cheers:

I will definitely throw up pics during the completion of all of this. The more i discuss these up coming aesthetics the more reassured i am that i want them. For warning, it won't be completed within a year; possibly all by two years. I would but money is kinda an issue until college is finished. As far as the time and mods, i saw the track slip for the car and that's the time it ran. i bought the car in December so i only know about the new suspension, clutch, brakes, and exhaust, i am going to get it checked out in the summer to see what all else was done. It only has 32,000 on it and i got it for 8k since the person was hurting financially. I jumped right on it. :D I will throw up the full lists of mods when i know them, it will be sooner than later because i don't like not knowing my car inside and out.

Just be careful, the glassback roof on the new model cars has some special UV coating so you dont get your head sunburned. I would venture a guess a custom setup would be very expenisve, expensive enough that you would probably be better off taking the mods off your car, sell it, and buy a convertible similar to yours.

I agree that it may not be the best way to go about saving money, it will take me a long time to save, but if i got a convertible it would just be back to having a stock looking car, im kinda trying to put a new twist on mine. i am going to look into the uv thing and see if there is a coating that can be put on my car, i will post when i call the customs place about the details of this endeavor.

I just called the customs place after doing my last post.....they said with the contour of the roof being much more rounded off than the new models, it may be a very risky task. I have decided that i am not going to put the skyroof in because i cannot risk my baby looking bad if this doesn't work, however, in light of that i have decided to look into a custom pearl paint job. The mineral gray color is amazing so it will take me time to find something that could possibly look better. I am still sticking to the saleen kit and the custom horse-to-flames ghost paint job on the side. I will throw up pictures as the process goes on. Thanks for all the advice and opinions so far.

Take a couple pics of the engine, the rear diff cover and some pics of the exhaust from the fron to back (ie from the header to the h-pipe to the cat back) and I will tell you what you have. You can also pop up the trim ring that holds the leather shift boot in place (it just pulls straight up) and see what kind of shifter it has. Also , did the car come with a programmer? Like a Diablo or SCT?

no it wasn't programed at all, i can get you the hood easy but under car is a bit harder until i can jack it up when it gets warmer out. Snow ruins my ability to do much right now.:nonono:

there's not much jacking the car up will show you. the majority of your speed will be under the hood. Go take 14 seconds and snap a picture under the hood. Then come back and try to run the 13.1

oh and the glasstop is a huge waste of your money. just buy a new headliner with a customer painted sunset with matching purple clouds
