I have been running 8lbs for a while now. It will not get me to my goals of 11s, so I was thinking about trying more boost. 12lbs is probably as high I will take it. If that does not get me there, I will just be happy with 12s.

I have stock head gaskets and stock bolts (valve covers never been off). Is 12lbs going to be too much?

If you're really concerned, you can buy some ARP studs and change them out one at a time, without sacrificing the head gaskets. The biggest issue with getting higher into boost with stock heads is that the deck thickness allows them to literally bend and you end up losing the gaskets anyway. How high of boost can you safely run with them, I honestly can't really say, since I don't know the answer.

12s are no problem with the stock bottom end. Can you run 12lbs of boost, well that may be pushing it a little bit but I have seen it happen before. Just not for long. The ARP studs will be better than the stock bolts, but mearly a band-aid for the bigger problem.

yeah, you will be fine bottom end wise with up to 12 lbs IMO..... HOWEVER...

After doing 4 headgaskets in a row, I learned quickly;

ARP studs! Cometic MLS headgaskets!! havent had a problem since... with my twin turbos or nitrous!
