My 98 Cobra has been sitting for 7-8 months. When I went to start it, it fired up and then died. She will still turn over, but won't start. Where do I start looking for the problem?
Fuel filter was clogged. While I have car jacked up, is it wise/possible to check fuel pump by running hose from outlet of filter to gas can and quickly turning on ign to see if pump is working?
Well tried it before I received your response Tommy, no fuel, and yes I'm still alive to tell about it. Have power going to pump, but only 7 volts, that didn't make sense, shouldn't it be 12. Ran wires from battery to check pump with full 12 volts, no humming. Suggestions for getting all the fuel out of the tank so I can change pump? I was reading some of the other theads about pumps, best to go thru Ford to get the new one?
Replaced the pump, fired right up.......music to my ears!!!!!
Ended up taking the vent hose loose on right side and siphoned all the gas out, dropped the tank the whole way and the rest is history...........Thanks for all the feedback.
