Buyer beware: My buyfordracing.com experience...

I like to hear good and bad about companies as well, but the point I was trying to make is the thread is fine but in no way should it be a sticky. I admit the liabiliy thing may be a little over the top and not very likely but it was more the principle of the statement about the Stangnet mods creating a sticky to flame a company. If that were the case Blue Oval Industries would have their own forum section :rlaugh:

I didn't decide to post about buyfordracing to flame them, merely to open some people's eyes to their attitude toward their customers. I'm sure this thread will be a sticky for a certain amount of time until the mods feel people have seen it and been informed, then they will un-sticky it.

I have never bought anything from them, but had them listed in the "parts links" section of my "favorites" for reference purposes. They are now deleted and will get none of my business.

Thanks for stickying this so I could read it.

Seems like customer service started goin out da window 10 to15 years ago these days they can say what ever they want to u and be wrong at same time, i remember when cs would do anything to keep customer happy and speek to u like u were their last customer :bang:

sometimes I think these threads are silly, mainly because we don't always hear both sides of the story. But based on the emails you've posted - what a dick! he's taunting you!!!! I built my entire car from mail order and would never deal with a jerk like them. Thanks for posting.

Don't bother wasting anymore of your time with them..........

I for one wish all customer service threads like this were stickied as well! I used to buy all my stuff from MustangsUnlimited in Connecticut because I lived 35 minutes away from them, and their customer service in person is usually pretty good! now that I am in florida I have to mail order everything since I am not near any Mustang Shops and because I would not want to order from any place where people are being treated like this!

so in short, never bought from them! now, I never will...

i know you feel better posting this story and it should remain
but you cant fault the company for one bad egg

actually, what you should be doing is contacting a senior person at the company and inform them of the unprofessional service you experienced. this is how you'll save the next guy that buys parts some of the same problems... its likely management is not even aware of this

I didn't sticky this thread so I won't go over the mods head that did so please don't PM me about it.

I will have to say this isn't the first time they have been accused of unprofessionalism. It's amazing they respond the way they do. I'm convinced it's the same person answering all the emails....he must want to get fired.

Diversified products/Buy Ford Racing.com - Corral Forums

I stickied it temporarily, so word gets around about their customer service. I found it humorous that the guy even stated:
BuyFordRacing's customer service guy said:
If you read HALF of the forums you claim to you would never have bought from us in the first place.

That alone speaks volumes to me, so the word is worth spreading. They don't value customers, so I value my dollars more and I'll spend them elsewhere.

I used to push their 13" brake kits all the time as the best deal going. But i can't faithfully promote someone who responds like that anymore. This thread plus the thread on Corral has me scratching my head to the maturity of the person answering to the email [email protected]

This would have been the proper response to the OP's question

"Hello, sorry you were misinformed. The calipers kits do not come with banjo bolts or washers. There must be purchased separately. Thank you for the suggestion into adding it to the website, I will have our web team review it. Thank you for purchasing from buyfordracing.com and sorry about the inconvienence"

Instead you get...

"Holy damn!, you want the entire car to come with the calipers too!?"

If I ever responded that way to a customer I would get fired.

I'm in the same boat, Mike. I had a good experience with them, but I never had to deal with their customer service. Just placed an order and received it in a satisfactory amount of time for a good price. From now on, it's price matching from somewhere like Summit.

Yea thats ridiculous, when I saw the title, I thought this is a stupid, sticky, but I think it should be stickied after the way they responded. I've bought from them before, but never had to deal with their customer service, I'll never buy from them again though, even if I have to pay more or wait longer.

When I ordered my Mach kit and I emailed about the crap Goodridge Lines that didnt want to mate up with my '99 GT's hard line. The email they sent me claimed that they didn't work with the stock hard line, WTF?

I am happy to see other people go public with their issues. I will not order from them again. Reputable dealers now will get my business.

I read some of this and I got so mad I had to share my similar experiance

I had a problem with these guys also. Stupid me, trying to give business to the "little guy" but this company unfortunately has the "little guy mentality" like a piss ant chiwawa yippy little dog thinking its the king:mad:... But wait: please let me explain;

Simple enough I ordered 3 items, (and they claimed that they had Bilstein fox dampners but I could not figure out how to actually order them - so I asked) I know this seems pretty simple: click BUY and ask 1 question - but no... It took over 3 months to get my 3 item order sorted out - I ended up with 1 of the 3 items but was shipped 3 packages and I had to ship them items also total...wow. They got my order wrong, they canceled my order twice deciding what parts I should want and trying to force me to buy what they thought I should want, ignored repeated requests re the Bilstein fox dampners, shipped me an incomplete order..and pices of that incomplete order were missing!!, they then started calling me a liar, also ignored the control arms order saying that they shipped, then backing out and saying they raised the price for that item $100 more ... So go suck it up, they said no control arms for you, and don’t feel free to try to get your other item again either! Even though it was all computerized from their internet site, they acted like they were all brain damaged. They dont know what words mean or how to communicate!
------------------------initial order, pretty basic--------------------
Products Tax Price

1 x 1979-2002 Mustang Driveshaft Safety Loop 0% $35.00
1 x 1979-1993 Mustang Control Arm 0% $179.00
1 x 1994-1998 Mustang Spring 0% $209.00
-----------------------the fun began----------------------------------------
They canceled my whole order without a question or comment to me, even thought they had my phone # and obviously email. then I re-ordered - Two weeks later and...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Comment: The earliest the control arms will be available is December. Please reorder the springs if you want them. The "F" springs and those control arms would not work on the same car.

Sirs, in regards to order # 1684, please answer the below question. This will be the third time I have asked you.
"I want to know if you carry bilstein struts. I was told that you did? have them at one time? You have great prices, keep up the good work."

Matt,

We did carry the Bilsteins when Ford Racing had them in their line. Unfortunately, they have been discontinued, and we no longer have them available.

Thank you,

Hello and good day

I was wondering which item(s) were shipped, I suspect the "1994-1998 5300-f Mustang Spring" and the driveshaft saftey loop? (knowing that "1979-1993 Mustang Control Arm" are on backorder for everybody)
Is this the case? If so, could you please give me a broad guess as to approxamitely how long the shipment would take to arrive at Southern California? Thanks very much, I just want your best guess. Thanks

Matt
------------------------
/They did not answer but eventually I received a brown box and - WHAT? I GET ONLY THE DRIVESHAFT SAFTEY LOOP (actually only part of it) AT THIS POINT!! I tried hard to keep up communication but they fought me every step. I called and what he said on the phone he later did NOT back up. I know its best to get things on paper or email but they simply WOULD NOT RESPOND!!! I WAS FORCED TO CALL AGAIN
-------------------
Belinda,
Mike told me to send the incomplete part back. I need written confirmation of this.
Please respond. I have spent Total: $499.93. While this may not seem to be much, It is quite a lot to me. I went with your company only because of the good things I have read about you online from forums and the like. They said that you take care of your customers. You have not responded to my previous email. I hope that you respond to this one!

"If you receive a damaged or incorrect item, contact customer service no later than 5 business days of receipt. On a case by case basis, we will cover shipping charges up to a maximum of $12.00 upon our receipt of the defective or mis-delivered item which must be returned fully intact with the original packaging via common carrier that provides package tracking."

Subject: !incomplete part was shipped! Re: BuyFordRacing Order Update

Hi there, I am wondering why you sent me only a part of my driveshaft loop?? You only sent the metal bracket which surrounds the driveshaft 3/4 of the way. You failed to sent the flat bar which bolts up to the car! (You did send nuts and bolts) You also did send my springs. I know that my 'a arms' are on backorder, were you holding onto part of the driveshaft saftey loop until you send me the 'a arms'? If so, why would you do such a thing?

Here is a picture from ford detailing the product in question: http://www.fordracingparts.com/par
ts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=5566

Please resolve this as quickly as possible Thank you Matt

It is our position that the order was sent complete. We made an exception that if you returned the parts you claim are all that you received we would send out a replacement kit. Now you have a lot of stipulations and concerns. At this point the resloution will be what was initially offered. We will refund your money for the driveshaft loop and your reasonable return freight when we receive the parts back and you will be free to purchase a replacement loop elsewhere. You have NOT been charged for the lower control arms nor will you be.

GODS IT HAS HORRIBLE. I NEVER GOT THE CONTROL ARMS, BUT SPENT HOURS ON THE PHONE AND EMAIL FIGHTING WITH INCOMPENEDN GOONS THAT MESSED UP EVERY STEP OF THE PROCESS AND TRIED TO CALL ME A LIAR... SO THEY ARE STUPID AND RUDE... PUTTING A BAD NAME ON FORD AFTERMARKET BUSINESS :( THESE GUYS DON’T DESERVE TO HAVE CUSTOMERS. PERIOD. I WENT BACK TO BUYING EVERYTHING FROM SUMMIT WHOM HAS NEVER DONE ME WRONG IN THEIR HUNDREDS OF SHIPMENTS TO ME! I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM HERE AND THERE THAT THEY INSTANTLY TAKE CARE OF

This is exactly what I was going to post. Summit Racing recently got some pretty glowing and positive reviews in another thread. Would or should a single bad customer experience cause them to be blacklisted and sticked here at Stangnet?

The mod that sticked this thread is acting like the judge, jury and prosecutor by essentially saying that this single case is representative of what you might expect from this company and to avoid them at all costs. We have not seen the actual emails between these two people and there is a line in one of them suggesting that someone has been editing their posts to make the message seem slanted.

I have bought a bunch of stuff from them in the past and will continue to in the future. They have great prices on the parts I want and fast shipping.

The mod that stickied this is under the assumption that we're an educated bunch that will use our best judgement, hence my changing of the title to add "Buyer beware."

This single case is, however what we might expect, should we need to get involved in any sort of conflict resolution with them over an order that's somehow incorrect. If it's the same person at the helm, I wouldn't expect any less. I don't see the line you're talking about in the e-mail either, unless it's one of the lines separating paragraphs? All of the little > symbols are what happens when an HTML e-mail is opened in a text based client. Formatting goes out the window and we're left with only text. Sometimes line spacing doesn't stay intact.

Post number 9, about 3/4 of the way down it says:

We can go on for days to

> > verbatim instead of editing them to make your point.

It's obvious that the BuyFordRacing rep is following this thread and does not want his posts taken out of context to make it appear that he said one thing when he meant another.
