New Gauges are in

Been working on this for a few days, just after work. Wanted to redo all the wiring so took a while.

Anyhow, got some gauges from Speedhut. Pretty nice gauges, all of them have peak recall except for the volt and trans temp I just got standard. Tach has a built in shift light, and I got a separate shift light that I mounted up high which just plugs in the back of the tach. Most of the gauges are with pressure transducers, not cheapy senders. All electronic ones, no mechanical gauges.

Ended up about 900 bucks with everything 8 guages, electronic speedo sender, and the shift light. You can custom do the backgrounds to whatever from them. Very happy with the gauges.

Not on the fly, but you can order them in different colors.

Very nice!! I was looking to do the standard conversion with the Autometer gauges but I really like this look and from the website, the color combos are almost unlimited. Did you have to make major mods to the dash piece?? Do you have pics of the buildup?? or is it taken straight from the other gauge swap mods we can find in the forum (I am asking because I am doing a swap on a '68). What kind of rewiring did you end up doing??

I wouldn't mind seeing a daytime shot or two. I'm looking at the JME setup right now for my '66 and it seems these are close in price so I just wanna get some better pics of this setup.

Ill try and get a better picture in the daytime.

Zero mods to the dash piece, they just fit right in. The speedo and tach have to be tightened backwards cause the plastic pieces for the turn signal and high beams are in the way, but it still works out fine. Pretty straight forward though, just slap them in and tighten them down. Got the gauge bezel off ebay a yr ago, just never got around to the gauges till now.

I love Speedhut gauges. Using them in the second car too now. Only had one problem with a tach once, and customer service did a 1 week turnaround. $0 even though it was 1yr out of warranty. They paid international shipping, even upgraded the firmware in it while they were at it.

Ya, they had one blemish in the clear face of one of the gauges on mine. Nice thing, its easy to replace and they are sending out a replacement lens for me. Got the tracking number that same day for the part. All of mine seem to work, just haven't set all the warning points yet on the recall gauges, nor set the speedo. Just gotta go for a drive today to set it.

I almost did the blue faced ones, cause they would somewhat go with the outside of my car, but decided against it.

but really, so you just bolted up the guages to the plastic bezel you bought? cause i am thinking of doing this since i'm getting a manual trans in my car, kinda want a tach. with those guages you got seems like the best $ route to get exactly what guages you want. instead of those other bezels like 300 dollars wtf.
