Help Predator or Dyno tune?

I have a 2005 mustang GT that I bought from the dealership. The man that owned it did his own mods to it. I am not for sure exactly what he did but I can name a few. I know he put Flowmasters and had the car professionally lowered to the ground. He put a suspension and handling package on it and put bigger tires like 19's (not 100% sure on tire size). He also put a Hurst shifter in it. Along with a functional Shaker CAI hood scoop. This is all that I know of. I want to get more power in the lower RPM's, so I think my best bet is to first buy a Predator. That will cost near 400 with a cable for the PC. The local Dyno will charge 600 for a tune which includes a Predator. Which way should I go to get the most power? Should I buy the predator and do it myself? Or should I take it to the Dyno and let them do it? I don't know which one to do, I am not the best with cars.

Thanks for the help

If you want to save yourself some money, I would get a used Predator or SCT and get a tune from Bamachips, Brenspeed or VMP. The mail order tunes are very nice and inexpensive. If you want a new handheld tuner, buy one from one of these guys with Their tunes loaded.

I think I will take your advise. I am going to go with Bamachips. I will order one new with his tunes on it. He seems to have the best reviews from what I have read. I hope it all works out and I can tell a difference in the way it drives.

I had bought a used SCT Xcal2 and bought a JLT CAI from Bamachips which emailed me a couple of tunes. Any good mail order tune is night and day compared to the stock tune. Most noticeable is throttle response - no more lag, and of course, more power.

JLT was removed after 5 months for the Saleen blower.

I purchased a c&l racer CAI kit with Diablo from bama chips 2 months ago and loved it. Well worth the upgrade. I liked the power so much I upgraded to a Paxton a few weeks ago and have the Diablo and c&l racer kit in the box waiting on me to take some photos and sell it. The tune was from bama for my 06. Throttle response and acceleration was great. Doug was easy to work with too.
